NTDCL - Telecom Installation Week 01 Report

Dear Sir,

Below is a summary of Telecom, unboxing, Installation and Commissioning site activities at Dadu
500KV, Shikarpur 500KV (SR276), Noorpur Sethi G/S (SR217), Ghakkar 500 and Bilawal G/S
(SR023) during Week 01.

1. Dadu 500KV:
Telecom installation activity at Dadu 500KV was commenced in Week 52 and continued through to
Week 01. The Contractor has been advised to strictly comply with the given installation schedule.

Date Equipment Installation Details

01/01/2024 Cables:
AC and DC cables have been laid and terminated at the
MCBs. The contractor has used 6x new DC MCBs and
4x new AC MCBs.

02/01/2024 At Dadu 500KV, the CAT07 cable from New SDH to


RTU has been laid. Ethernet cable laid from New
PLC to New SDH.

2. Noorpur Sethi G/S:

Date Equipment Installation Details

01/01/2024
Telecom Room:
1x PLC cabinet has been unboxed and erected properly.
SMS Room:
Ethernet cable is used from the SMS room to the PLC
cabinet.

02/01/2024
Cables:
AC and grounding cables have been laid and
terminated at both ends. Ethernet cable has been laid.
Cable tagging has been done properly.

3. Shikarpur 500KV:
Telecom installation activity at Shikarpur 500KV commenced on 03/01/2024 and continued through
to Week 01. Installation activity has not been completed yet.

03/01/2024 Telecom Room:


1x ODF and 1x SDH cabinet has been unboxed and
erected properly.

04/01/2024 Cables:
AC and Grounding cables for the ODF panel have been
laid and terminated properly.

05/01/2024 Cables:
AC, DC and grounding cables for the SDH panel have
been laid and terminated properly. Cable tagging has
been done properly.

4. Ghakkar 500 and Bilawal G/S (SR023):

Telecom installation activity has not started yet.


Observed Issues:

1. It has come to our attention that at Noorpur Sethi G/S, 48V DC wasn’t available. So, the DC
cable in the Telecom room has been laid but its termination is still pending. Contractor/Employer
should resolve the issue as soon as possible. Here it is pertinent to mention that the contractor has
laid an Ethernet cable from the SMS room to the PLC panel, but as per the cable interconnection
drawing, the FO cable should be laid. So the contractor has handed over 8x patch cords, 2x
Ethernet cable(2x 10 meters), 2x Media converters, 2x SFP module, and FO cable(71 meters). 2x
mini OTBs, DC cable for media converter, and PVC conduit have still not been provided. The
contractor should hand over the remaining material to the site staff as soon as possible.

2. Pending work at the Shikarpur 500KV site includes installation of 1x Mini OTB inside the SDH
cabinet, 1x Mini OTB and 1x Media converter within the metallic box, and DC cable for media
converter. CAT07 cable from the SDH cabinet to the RTU has not been laid as the RTU wasn’t
functional. FO patch cords have not been laid from New ODF to New SDH. Approximately
500meters FO cable from the SMS meter in the Shikarpur 220KV control room to the SDH panel
in Shikarpur 500KV has not been laid yet. At the Shikarpur 500KV site, the DC cable has been
laid but not terminated as there is not enough space in the DCDB. Contractor/Employer is advised
to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

3. At Dadu 500KV, it was noticed that 2x patch cords from the Old ODF to the new SDH have not
been laid as the old ODF is missing at this site. Contractor/Employer should resolve the issue as
soon as possible.
