Database Assignment Guidance


1) Create a formal business proposal for Aaradhya Telecom Limited. It should include
userand system requirements that develop a fully functional design of the relational
database for the IT helpdesk system, including ERDs, normalization, data validation,
output designs, and, interface diagrams evaluating the reasons that the design will meet
the requirements as given effectively.

 Introduction of company.
 Define the database along with the properties.
 Define Keys and their types with examples.
 Define relationships and cardinality with examples.
 Define the ER Diagram along with its shapes and functionality.
 Prepare the list of entities associated with the assignment scenario.
 Prepare the table in a word named data dictionary. Explain the kind of data to be stored
in each attribute of the database tables.
 Prepare the ER Diagram for the assignment scenario.
 You must explain the relationship associated with the tables in theassignment
scenario.
 Define Normalization with its types.
 Prepare the sample tables for the assignment in Word. Briefly explainthe data types
for each of the attributes in tables.
 If required, perform the table normalization and briefly explain the process.
 If not, validate why normalization is not required in your tables.
 Prepare the list of user requirements.
o It must include the aspects of both the user as a client and the help desk operator.
o For example: what are the tasks, a caller and the operator do? etc.
 Prepare the list of system requirements:
o List of activities the system is supposed to do.
o For example: storing information, maintaining the database, required output and
queries, etc.
 Make sure to checklist the Pass/Merit/Distinction criteria questionnaires.

2) Create and fully implement the database Help Desk system for Aaradhya
Telecom Limited, according to your design, including user interface, inputs,
outputs, data validation, and querying across multiple tables using a query
language. The systemmust also be fully secure and maintainable.

 Create tables in SSMS, and insert the screenshot of data validation. Make sure you also
use constraints while creating the table, i.e. primary/foreign key,Null/Not Null, etc.
 Insert the dummy data into all the tables and insert the screenshot.
 Insert the screenshot of data validation as well.
 Use some basic SQL queries and insert the screenshot.
 Create a new user in the workbench, and grant access.
 Test the system will security. Make sure you use queries with success and failure.

 Use of 3/4 queries between multiple tables to extract some meaningful information.
Screenshot the code and output. Briefly explain what you did in the query and the result.
 Make sure to checklist the Pass/Merit/Distinction criteria questionnaires.

3) Develop and action a test plan with effective tests:

a) This must include effective data and extreme and erroneous data to build
an accurate picture of the viability of the database

b) Tests must assess the breadth and usability of the program as well as the
requirements in the brief

c) Tests must include meaningful data and elements that would be in a successful
implementation.

 Prepare the table in Word as a test plan that includes the test case, expected
output, output, and remarks.
 Your test cases must include, login tests, data type tests, and a few queries.
 Briefly explain the importance of testing and test cases. Explain why you used data type
tests and query data.

4) Produce a written report: (Distinction, No Guidance)

a) Evaluating the effectiveness of the database against user requirements and suggesting
improvements

b) Include an assessment of the queries and data extracted to produce meaningful


management information

c) Assess the effectiveness of testing, including an explanation of the choice of the test
data used.

5) Produce a series of user videos as follows:

a) Technical: showing the backend of the system and its associated setup, including
data flow diagrams and flowcharts, describing how the system works.

 Prepare technical documentation that includes a flowchart and data flow diagram with a
brief description of either of the figures.
 Prepare user documentation, a screenshot of login/password, a screenshot of a few
queries, and their explanation.
 Prepare a short screencast video user documentation process mentioned in the above step.
Attach a link of your video from YouTube.
