Introduction of Estimate in MEFPS and Earthworks

A. Mechanical System

A mechanical system is a set of physical components that convert an

input motion and force into a desired output motion and force. Mechanical
systems have at least three elements: input, process and output. The input
part of the system is any type of motion and force that drives the mechanical
system. Mechanical system, in any building service using machines include
plumbing, elevators, escalators, and heating and air-conditioning systems.

B. Electrical System

An electric system consists of all of the elements needed to distribute

electrical power, including overhead and underground lines, poles,
transformers, and other equipment. The electric system in a small industrial
unit will normally be powered by a three-phase supply.

C. Plumbing System / Sanitary

Plumbing system means the water supply and distribution pipes;

plumbing fixtures and traps; soil, waste, and vent pipes; sanitary and storm
sewers and building drains, including their respective connections, devices,
and appurtenances within the premises; and water-treating equipment.

D. Fire-protection System / Fire Fighting System

Fire-protection systems fall into two main categories — passive fire

protection and active fire protection. Passive fire protection involves the use
of building components to control or limit a fire. Walls, floors, and ceilings
can be designed and constructed to resist the passage of fire and smoke.
Fire-alarm systems are also part of active fire protection.

A firefighting system is an activity of prevention during a fire spread

in building, home or warehouse with the use of proper fire safety equipment
like extinguisher, hose reels, fire monitors, nozzles and hose pipes.

Fire-sprinkler and other extinguishing systems are intended to

extinguish or control the fire. Smoke control systems typically are designed
to limit the spread of smoke, which keeps egress routes passable for a given
period.

E. EARTHWORKS

Earthworks are engineering works created through the processing of parts of the
earth's surface involving quantities of soil or unformed rock.
Earthwork is one of the major elements of industrial hydroengineering, transportation, an
d civil engineering construction. The purposes of earthwork are the creation of engineer
ing works from the soil (such as dams, railroads, highways, canals, channels, and trenc
hes), thelaying of foundations for buildings and structures which are erected from other m
aterials, the leveling of areas under development for building, and the removal of masses
of earth in order to open up mineral deposits (burden removal). Openpit mining and u
nderground mining work involve earthwork. Works are created from earth by exca
vating the ground or byraising embankments from the ground (soil). An excavation dug s
olely for the extraction of soil is called a reserve, and an embankment formed during the
pouring off of unnecessary soit is called a dump (dirt pile).
In civil engineering, trenches are often created to install underground utilities such
as gas, water, power and communication lines. In construction, trenches are dug for
foundations of buildings, retaining walls and dams, and for cut-and-cover construction of
tunnels.
In civil engineering, trenches are often created to install underground utilities such
