Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 4 – Materials designer reflection.

1. Activity Description

With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

To synthesize personal reflections, research findings, and pedagogical principles


supporting the use of technology in the classroom, to develop engagement language
activities.

The activity consists of:

1. Having in mind the information read from the documents of units one and two,
and your personal thoughts, you are going to design an online interactive
presentation answering the following questions:

a. What are some of the benefits and challenges of incorporating


technology in language learning, and how can teachers overcome these
challenges? List at least 4 challenges and explain.

b. How can you use technology to promote lifelong learning in the language
classroom?

c. What are some of the resources that you would recommend to other
teachers who are interested in incorporating technology into language
learning? Name at least 4 resources and explain them.

d. What do you think is the most important factor influencing students’


engagement in the language classroom?

e. How can technology be used to provide students with access to authentic


language resources?

f. How do you ensure that all students have access to the technology they
need to participate in technology-enhanced activities?

g. How can you ensure that technology does not become a distraction in
the language classroom?

h. How do you think technology will change the way we teach and learn
languages in the future?

2. Keep in mind these recommendations:

a. The answers should demonstrate original thinking and insights, avoiding


simply repeating information that is already available on the web and
research done.

b. Each answer should be provided in a paragraph containing a minimum of


seventy (70) words per question. Avoid using short answers.

c. Include a cover page in the presentation.

d. Add images and pictures to make your presentation visually attractive.

e. In your presentation, ensure that you incorporate in-text citations, and


references according to APA standards whenever you cite any author.

f. You need to use any of the following web tools to design your online
presentation:

● Visme
● Google Slides
● Genially
● Slidebean

2. Submit a PDF document with a cover page considering APA standards and the link
to your online presentation. Make sure your presentation is public, then anyone
can watch it.

For the development of the activity consider that:

In the Initial Information Environment, you must: observe the course presentation,
check the course agenda, and the date of the synchronous meetings via web
conferences, and attention through Skype.

In the Learning Environment, you must: have access to the course syllabus,
download the guide, and check the links of the documents you have to consider for
the development of the activity.

In the Evaluation Environment, you must: Submit the final document, which meets
the requirements of the guide.

The individual evidence to be submitted is:

and the responses to the questions proposed.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidence to Submit

For Individual evidence, consider the following:

● Before delivering the requested product, the student should check that it
meets all the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions that have been defined.

Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must meet
the APA Format Guide.

In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found on the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,
among others, are the following: paragraph e) "Plagiarism is to present as your own
work all or part of a written report, task or document of invention carried out by
another person. It also implies the use of citations or lack of references, or it
includes citations where there is no match between these and the reference" and
paragraph f) " To reproduce, or copy for profit, educational resources or results of
research products, which have rights reserved for the University ". (Acuerdo 029 -
13 de diciembre de 2013, Artículo 99)

The academic penalties students will face are:


a) In case of academic fraud demonstrated in the academic work or evaluation, the
score obtained will be zero (0.0) without any disciplinary measures being derived.
b) In case of proven plagiarism in academic work of any nature, the score obtained
will be zero (0.0), without any disciplinary measures being derived.
