FINAL OUTPUT: WATERCOLOR PAINTING

For this final output I choose to paint landscapes and sceneries, in my case they are easier

to paint and it is a perfect start for me since I myself am a beginner artist, I used colors that I

have and currently available in my materials like blue, purple, pink, orange, yellow, white, red,

brown and etc. I always use a lot of water to build up gradient effect, with a lot of water it is easy

to blend for me and go for more like a pastel shade. I painted a portrait of sky and sea since these

kinds of places have calm ambiance, sea and sky are my favorite places when my family and I go

for a vacation. I use Pinterest to look for landscape painting ideas, I found a lot of examples of it

so I gradually choose one and recreated it. For the base of my artwork I mixed 2 colors which is

blue and brown to make a darker share of blue for the sea, and used it to make gradient effect

going to the bottom corner of the paper and created a small vertex shape space for the color of

sand of light yellow, then after drying the first part, I used several colors to form the clouds, the

colors must overlap a little bit so I painted them while it is still wet, since I am still waiting for

the sky part to dry I build up the color of the bottom part of my artwork, the part where I am

going to paint for the sea with its wave, using the brush I painted my dark mixture of blue and

gradually build up the color of sea water, with brush patting technique and wait for it to dry, and

after that I successfully created the sea, the next thing is I have to start with the waves, with the

example I choose in the Pinterest, the artist’s technique in creating waves was quite difficult for

me to follow so I tried to experiment using white acrylic paint I apply it in the middle part of the

color of sand and the gradient color of the sea and blend it using my fingers, it was slightly off at

first but it turns out good in the end, the white paint of 3 layer waves overlaps so I apply my own

mixture of blue in between of the waves to make the waves stand out, I used a white paint for

creating waves since white watercolor doesn’t have an effect and it ended up on mixing with
other colors, and the after that I used white paint on the brush and started patting the handle of

the brush on my hand to make some dot effects on the sea. After the bottom part of my artwork

have dried, I used my own mixture of dark blue to create gradient effect for the sky together with

red, yellow and orange. After that I sketched the shape of clouds just for guide, then I used the

white acrylic paint to form the clouds by slightly dragging the brush downwards when applying

the paint I used flat brush for painting the clouds and let it dry.
