Overview
The National Industrial Training Institute (NITI) is the result
of the strategic partnership, focused collaboration and the
exchange of experiences between Saudi Aramco (SA) and
the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
It’s a not-for-profit organization managed by an independent
board of trustees that is established in 2010.

It’s an academic and a technical edifice embracing regional,


national and international benchmark to train and qualify
the Saudi workforce at both domestic and international
levels. This is through using the best scientific, practical
and technical methods in conformity with the international
quality standards. NITI sustains quality and excellence in all of
its activities. It exploits high quality curricula and exemplary
delivery techniques utilizing the latest technology under
the direction and the provision of highly qualified and skilled
multi-national teachers and trainers.

NITI competently contributes to building the industrial future


in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia meeting the current and
future requirements of the labor market in the area of the
hydrocarbon, petrochemicals, and energy-related industries.

Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees (BoT) is competent to form the public policy of the
National Industrial Training Institute. The Chairman and Members of the BoT
ensure the sustainability of quality and excellence, the safety of all NITI
trainees and staff, the right implementation of the set policies and
procedures, the achievement of NITI vision and mission. They focus more on
the quality of NITI graduates who should be highly skilled in their areas of
specialization, proficient in English, adept in computers and armed with safety
awareness and practices, in addition to the desired work ethics. The Bot is
comprised of several members who possess long experiences and high
competencies in the field of management, training, human resources and
organizational management.

Training Services
The mission of the National Industrial Training Institute (NITI) is to assist trainees
to reach the highest standards and enable them to meet the needs of the labor
market through the provision of high-quality professional programs. Given the
importance of this mission, the Institute offers three main training programs:

• Diploma Program
• Short Courses & Professional Certificates Program
• Bridging Program

Diploma Program
This program helps to develop the basic knowledge and practical skills of Saudi high
school graduates and prepares them professionally to ensure their success in their
future jobs in the oil, gas, petrochemical and energy-related industries. The core
program of the Diploma is set for two years. The timeline for other programs varies
according to each career path and ranges from 9 to 24 months.

Short Courses & Professional Certificates Program


Believing in the importance of developing the human resources, which is one of
the most important factors for institutions’ success, the Institute has been keen to
establish short technical courses in the disciplines it offers, which targeting
administrative staff, engineers and technicians in the oil and gas sector. The
Institute launches such programs that relates to certain professions in order to
test eligibility and ensure readiness to perform the required tasks, and to grant a
locallyandinternationally approved certificates to qualified professionals.

Bridging Program
NITI develops and delivers a competency based,3–9 months based on clients’ request in
different industrial training fields .
This is an intensive learning program designed for further or higher education. Bridge
programs are also transitional programs for specialized and professional levels in
compliance with clients’ needs to support their workforce.

The Diploma Program is designed to provide training to high
school graduates to prepare them for entry-level jobs. The
program provides participants with academic and job skills
training to ensure that they have the skills necessary to be
successful in their future jobs

Requirements
• To be sponsored by an employer.
• Minimum high school average of 75%.
• Minimum QIYAS General Aptitude Test score of 65.
• Not exceed the age of 24 years.

Program Objective
1. Develop basic knowledge and practical skills required to
meet minimal competency standards needed by the oil &
gas, petrochemical and related energy industries.
2. Provide meaningful instruction that motivates apprentices
and satisfies stakeholders and clients’ needs.
3. Provide appropriate feedback about apprentices’
performance to the sponsoring companies concerned.
4. Graduate skilled & competent Saudis with fully developed
round characters who would be direct job holders, armed
with safety awareness, discipline, values and the desired
work ethics.

HRDF Support
• During the training period, HRDF shall contribute
75% of the training costs for a 9 to 24 months and
not exceeding SR 3,000 per month for the
employee. The employer shall bear the remaining
costs.

• HRDF contributes to bear the proportion of the


trainee monthly stipend during the training period
by 50% not exceeding 1000 riyals per month

In order for the Institute to harness the technology and its
advanced means in training and qualifying trainees and
developing their skills faster, classrooms and lecture halls are
equipped with smart classroom systems as well as the training
workshops with sophisticated simulatorss.

Certified Trainers
The quality of vocational training and its outputs depend
largely on the quality and the performance of the trainers.
Therefore, the Institute has always been keen to recruit
trainers accredited with international experience in the field of
vocational training and hold relevant degrees.

The curriculum is designed by specialized experts in the field of
industrial training and taken with empirical evidence out of the
work field. It has also been adopted locally and internationally.
To meet customer needs and provide solutions for the

valuable, interesting and constructive pursuits. Trainees acquire new
information and innovative techniques. They develop talent, problem
solving tactics and critical thinking approaches.. To serve these purposes,
NITI has organized Trainee Club Activities per individual interest. There
is the Safety Ambassador Club, the English Club, the Toast Mater Club,
The Technical Club, the Chess Club, the Cultural & Poetry Club, the
Technology Club, etc., as well as the various Sports Clubs as of Football,
Basketball and Volleyball.

Community Participation
The Institute seeks to consolidate values and principles that are
appropriate to the nature of community and increase its awareness on
the most significant negative phenomena through supporting and
sponsoring awareness campaigns that address matters like dangers of
fire, the impact of drugs on community, the importance of blood
donation, traffic awareness, dangers of smoking, plus a number of other
campaigns to help in scaling up and improving the quality of the human
life and environment, and for uplifting the community.

Safety Training
Safety is one of the core values of the Institute, so it is given a special
importance. For improving safety awareness and practices, weekly
safety messages are discussed with trainees in their classes, the Safety
Ambassador Club has its Safety Corner equipped with videos and plasma
screens reflecting related safety films and programs. To inculcate this
value in the students at the Institute, the training programs have
included basic components for safety training in all professional
disciplines in order to be a valuable complement to the labor skills and
its fundamentals..

NITI was declared a bronze and Silver medal winner of the


prestigious King Abdulaziz Quality Award (KAQA) in the category of

Training (ACCET)
NITI has been accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing
Education & Training (ACCET) as of December 2017. ACCET is a US
based non-profit organization founded for the purpose of improving
continuing education and training. It has been officially recognized by
the U.S. Department of Education since 1978 as a “reliable authority”
as to the quality of education and training provided by accredited
institutions. NITI takes pride in this stamp of quality that proves that it
provides its training according to international training standards.
