LAB SESSION 9:

SIMULATE THREE PHASE FULL WAVE CONTROLLED

BRIDGE RECTIFIER ON MATLAB.
Introduction:
Rectifiers are AC to DC converters that produces a rippled DC from which a pure DC can be
obtained using a filter capacitor. A variable input voltage can be obtained by varying the input
voltage. The output is controlled by the firing angle of the thyristors.

Objectives:
To simulate the three-phase rectifier circuit using MATLAB.
Design, Simulation & Observation:
Figure 1

Figure 2 Input voltages vs output voltage

Applications:
Three phase rectifiers are generally employed in industries.
LAB SESSION 10:
SIMULATE THREE PHASE FULL AND HALF WAVE
UNCONTROLLED BRIDGE RECTIFIER ON MATLAB.
Introduction:
Rectifiers are AC to DC converters that produces a rippled DC from which a pure DC can be
obtained using a filter capacitor. A variable input voltage can be obtained by varying the input
voltage. The diodes automatically let the voltage pass as long as the anode voltage is more
positive than cathode.
Objectives:
To simulate the three-phase uncontrolled half and full wave rectifier circuits using
MATLAB.

Design, Simulation & Observation:

The following output is observed.

Figure 3 (Full wave)

The following output is observed.

Applications:
Three phase rectifiers are generally employed in industries.
