General Information

All our connectors featured in this

catalogue are electrically interlocked locking cone slotted sleeve (MWT) male pin

by the pilot contacts. During the

actual connection and disconnection
process, the shortest pilot pin is the
first one to make contact and the last
cable terminal female contact cable terminal

The MWT system

Cavotec power connectors make use of
a special technique using lammelar
technology with multicontacts (Multi-
Way Technology). The lamellar
system MWT greatly improves the
contact between the male pin and
female contact. When the MWT
becomes warm it expands thus
increasing the contact pressure
between the surfaces. This additional
contact pressure allows for an
exceptional current-carrying capacity
relative to the size of the contacts and
makes connecting and disconnecting
the plug and socket easier.

Panel Housings

Complementary to plugs and sockets

Cavotec Connectors has a standard
range of panel housing made in 3mm
hot-dip galvanised steel plate designed
for the same harsh environment as the
plugs and sockets.
Cavotec also provides panel housing in
2 mm AISI 316 stainless steel.
The panel housings are built up as a
modular system consisting of upper/
lower modules and flanges in order to
comply with different needs of
available space and required functions.
Cavotec Connectors has designed
standard outlet panels for 250A and
400A with a voltage range of 380V to
1000V. These are equipped with
moulded-case Circuit Breakers
interlocked via the pilot contacts in
plug and socket. On request Cavotec
