The important thing is not to know how
many people can fit in an establishment but
how many people can fit
“REGULARLY” in a given establishment,
that is: its CAPACITY.

3.1.1 . CAPACITY CALCULATION PROCEDURE IN SHOPPING CENTERS
To calculate capacity in shopping centers, the sum of leasable areas of the commercial premises that have access from common circulation
must be considered, without including in the sum the stores that have an independent evacuation and divide it by the coefficient or occupancy
factor according to table 3.1.1-1 and the following formula.
For premises with one or more commercial entrances from outside the shopping center, half of the leasable area is considered for the
calculation of the capacity of the shopping center.

area, common circulation area and administrative and/or service areas. This concept is also applicable. to meeting places with simultaneous occupancy.
a) The capacity calculation for the theater area in a cinema is established by the number of seats in each room.
b) The capacity calculation for the common circulation area in eme is determined by the average capacity of the ce eme rooms that communicate with the
common circulation.
c) To calculate administrative and service areas, the coefficient or mobility calculation method must be used depending on the most significant
result. This calculation must include the area of ticket office queues and food sales.
