operate your vehicle safely and efficiently.
FORKLIFTS are built for heavy duty work, but not abuse.
They are designed to be reliable, but they are only as
safe and efficient as the operator and the people
responsible for their maintenance are. Do not make
repairs on these units unless you have received training
in FORKLIFT repair procedures and are authorized by
your immediate superior.

manual will help you improve your skill and knowledge as
a professional FORKLIFT operator while taking full
advantage of the capabilities and safety features of your
FORKLIFT.
The first section of this manual is dedicated to reviewing,
with illustrations and brief messages, the general safety
rules and the main operating risks that you will encounter
when operating your unit. Next, you will find a discussion
of typical operating procedures with specific instructions
on the safe and efficient operation of your vehicle.
Please take the time to read the “Get to Know Your Unit”
section. By gaining a good basic understanding of your
unit's features and how they work, you will be better
prepared to drive efficiently and safely.

1. KNOW YOUR UNIT.
You can see this in the following diagram:
As long as the Weight of the Load is less than that of the forklift,
the forklift will remain stable depending on the distance from the
center of gravity of the load.
Consider the stability of the forklift including the following:
1. Load weight greater than the maximum weight of the forklift
2. By the combination of load weight and distance of c
To know these two points we must consult the
loading diagram of each forklift.

1. KNOW YOUR UNIT.
To understand how the forklift can take a load, you must first
know some basic things about it.
Every object has a center of gravity when the forklift lifts a load
as much as the vehicle and the load has a new combined center
of gravity

operation, is affected by a number of factors such as: size,
weight and position of the load; the height to which said load is
raised; the degree of tilt forward or backward; tire pressure and
the dynamic forces that are created when the vehicle is in
motion. These dynamic forces are caused by factors such as
acceleration, braking, turning, and operating on uneven or
inclined surfaces. These factors must be considered when
moving an unladen vehicle, also because a vehicle in these
circumstances can tip over on its side more easily than a loaded
one when carrying its load with the blades down.
The Lever Theory Applied to the Forklift
If the center of gravity moves forward, the forklift will tend to lean
forward; If the center of gravity moves outside the lateral lines,
the forklift will tend to tip over on its side.

LOADING RULES
Capacity (Weight and load center)
The capacity of the forklift is shown on the capacity plate.
Capacity is listed in terms of weight and load center. Weight is
specified in kilograms or pounds. The load center is specified in
millimeters or inches. Capacity is the maximum load the forklift
can handle. This load must weigh less than the maximum weight
of a load center shown on the Capacity Plate.
Daily Inspection
Before using a
FORKLIFT, it is the
operator's
responsibility to review
its conditions. and
make sure it is found
in
safe operating conditions.
2
TOOL
Do not make repairs yourself. FORKLIFT mechanics are
trained professionals. They know how to make safe
repairs.
2
• Check the fork and load backrest extension.
• Look for loose or loose bolts and hardware.
• Check the condition of tires and wheels.
• Check all controls.
• Check engine compartment conditions. Make sure all
surfaces are free of oils, lubricants, fuel, and organic dusts
or fibers.
• Operate the unit briefly to ensure that all systems are
working properly and that all instruments including lights
and horn are working.

Level review
• Engine oil. If the engine is on, turn it off and wait 3
minutes to give the oil a chance to rest and proceed to
check the level, it should mark in the upper notch of the
bayonet. If it is in the lower notch, add SAE 30 or 40 oil
(No. Art. CD07) until you reach the top notch. The purpose
of this operation is to maintain adequate lubrication of the
engine and prevent minor damage.
• Hydraulic oil. Keep the mast in the rest position with the
engine off, check the oil level, it should reach the upper
notch of the bayonet, if the level is lower, add DTE25 oil
(No. Art. CD01) until you reach the top notch.
• Transmission Oil. Keep the engine on and at normal
temperature, with the gear selector lever in neutral position
and proceed to check the transmission oil level on the
bayonet, if you lack oil, use TRANSMISOL DEXRON (No.
Art. CD02)
• Differential oil. For inspection you must use the pit.
Remove the differential plug with a 3/8” Allen wrench. The
height of the plug is the oil level. Use MP140 oil (No. Art.
CD03)
• Directional pump oil. Make sure your unit has an
independent directional pump, remove the cap and verify
that the pump reservoir is full, otherwise add
TRANSMISOL DEXRON (No. Art. CD02)

Visual checks
First, perform a visual inspection of the unit and its major
components. Walk and look around your unit and take note of
any obvious damage that may have been caused during the
previous shift's operation.
• Check that all safety, capacity and warning signs are
posted and legible.
• Check before and after starting the engine for any signs of
external leaks: battery fluid, transmission fluid, etc.
• Check for hydraulic oil leaks and/or loose hardware.
• Make sure that the driver's upper protection, the extension
of the back of the load and any other
device of security are in its place without
damage and
securely fastened.
• Next, check all critical components that can handle or carry
the load.
• Check the mast and lift chains. Check for obvious wear
and maintenance issues such as damaged or missing parts,
leaks, loose or broken chains, bent parts, etc. Check all
accessories, chains, cables and limit switches
• Carefully inspect the load fork for cracks, breaks, bending,
twisting or wear. Make sure the fork is correctly installed and
secured in its correct position.
• Check that the wheels and tires are properly mounted, if
there are signs of wear, and if they are pneumatic tires, they
have air pressure. 28
Functional Reviews
• Test warning devices, horn, lights and safety
accessories, including fire extinguisher.
• Start the engine and make sure all controls and
systems are working properly.
• Check the operation of the hour meter.
• Apply the service and parking brakes. This brake
should block the machine's clutch and the front tires. If
this does not happen, report it to maintenance
immediately.
•Operate all hydraulic controls: lift, tilt and auxiliary
functions, throttle, directional control and steering
system.
• Check that all controls operate freely and return
correctly to neutral.
• Operate the lift and auxiliary function mechanism (if
installed).

to stow
To place a load on a pallet...
Approach slowly and align the FORKLIFT and the
load squarely with the pallet. Lift the load as your
unit approaches the pallet. Move forward slowly until
the load is almost touching the pallet. The front edge
and sides of the loading platform must be exactly
aligned with the near edge and sides of the load or
shelf above the one you are stowing.
Stand close to the pallet and lift the load higher until
you clear the top surface of the pallet.
Slowly move the load into position. Be careful not to
damage or move adjacent loads.
When the load is aligned with the pallet below, tilt the
mast to the vertical position and carefully lower the
load onto the top surface of the pallet. Lower the fork
slightly to clear or disengage the cargo bed. Tilt the
fork forward slightly if necessary. Check the exit
path, then carefully back up until the fork is clear of
the pile. Stop and lower the fork to the riding position
(6 to 8 inches above the ground), then tilt it back to
ride. -
