Value proposal
The film industry in Colombia is experiencing significant growth and foresees unparalleled
development for musical creators in the near future. This is how, within the cinematographic
world, music as a language plays a predominant role and it is imperative that musicians,
composers and creatives have the appropriate tools to strengthen the growth of this industry.
In this way, participants in the diploma course will gain in-depth knowledge of all the
processes carried out in the creation of original music for film; from when a work is
commissioned from the composer until the final delivery of the product. They will learn about
the songwriting process, the relationship with the film's director and producer, the workflow
within the industry, and the copyright of the musical work. Likewise, they will learn the legal
aspects of the business concerning the profession of the Musical Composer, with special
emphasis on the national industry and which are essential to work in optimal conditions. On
the other hand, they will have the opportunity to record their compositions with a symphony
orchestra, which gives a very important added value to this diploma and allows the participant
to come into contact with the reality of recording music for film.
To this end, the Diploma brings together a group of specialized lecturers and a program that
allows you to immerse yourself not only in a conceptual reflection on film music but also in the
practical and creative aspects that the profession demands.
Each of the professors who participate in the diploma course has extensive experience in the
field and remains current in the current cinema panorama in the country and internationally.
