BECAUSE TECHNOLOGY IS NO LONGER JUST TECHNOLOGY
Objective: Model the business process followed in a hospital care center when a sick patient
arrives.
The process begins when the patient has an illness and wants to go to the doctor's office, for
which he sends the receptionist a message that he needs to see a doctor. When the
receptionist receives the patient's request, she sends the doctor a message to find out her
availability.
The doctor has 30 minutes to send a response confirming availability, so the receptionist
proceeds to notify the doctor of the patient's appointment reservation, which is subsequently
notified to the patient. If the doctor does not respond within 30 minutes, the receptionist will
contact another doctor.
Once the doctor treats the patient, he tells him the symptoms he presents and knowing this,
the doctor asks the receptionist to prepare the medical prescription, to finish his intervention
in the process after telling the patient to pick up his prescription. . The medical consultation
should not last longer than 40 minutes. If so, the patient must pay an additional 20% to the
cost of the appointment.
Once the patient receives the message to pick up the prescription, they request the medicine
from the receptionist who delivers it to the patient, thus ending the intervention of the
receptionist in the process. When the patient picks up his medicine, he proceeds to leave the
consultation, thus finishing his process. If the prescribed medication is not available, the
patient will have the option to decide between the following options:
Objective: Model the business process followed to hire new personnel for the company.
The personnel hiring system of the company ALARCOS, SA, is a computer consulting
company system that maintains a record of all employees who work there. New employees
are hired based on the information contained in their resume and after a series of interviews.
Anyone can send, at any time, their resume to the company or even an update of it. The IT
manager communicates to the personnel department the need for new jobs, specifying the
skills and knowledge necessary to be able to perform them.
The personnel department compares the characteristics of the potential employees (found in
the resumes they have sent) with those of the job position and plans interviews between the
IT manager and the three best candidates. After receiving the IT manager's evaluations of
the candidates, the human resources department notifies the interviewees and the IT
manager of the decision made.
New employees are made to complete a form with additional data to those on the resume
and are incorporated along with the rest of the company's employees.
“Games Party” is a company dedicated to providing mechanical and electronic game rental
services for companies or people who wish to organize children's parties. The company
requires our services to develop a system that allows it to control customer service. Every
day, clients come to the company requesting rental services. The company's receptionist
consults the catalog of amusement rides and tells the client the characteristics of each of
them and the prices. Some clients request a quote and the secretary registers the quote. I
previously verify if the client is registered, and if not, she registers it.
Subsequently, if the client accepts the budget for the games, the secretary registers a
contract, to do so, she verifies the budget. Additionally, the secretary specifies the place and
date where it is desired for said games to be installed. The secretary then prints the contract
and gives it to the client to sign. Next, the customer approaches the cashier to make the
respective payment. The cashier generates the payment receipt, previously obtained the
contract information to register the game rental, then prints the document and delivers it to
the sealed customer. All contracts are delivered to the general manager. The general
manager registers an installation job for each contract, previously searching for the contract,
the supervising technician assigns the installation work to one or more technicians,
depending on the games that must be installed. I previously searched for the contract.
In the end, the supervising technician records a technical report on the installation of the
games at the event location for each rental contract, indicating the code, name and surname
of the technicians who carried out the work. This record updates the status of the rental
record to “Installed.” The day after the event, the supervising technician collects all the
games and records the final closing of the contract, previously searching for the contract.
