Introduction

“Corporate Social Responsibility is the voluntary integration by companies of

social and environmental concerns in their commercial operations and in their
relationships with their interlocutors.” (European Comission)

From this well-known and clear definition we emphasize the social concerns
in which companies with CSR participate; One of your main concerns is to satisfy
the needs of the members within your organization, this gives rise to RSI.

Internal Social Responsibility in an organization focuses on the satisfaction

of its internal Stake Holders, that is, its “workers.” For RSI to exist, the priority is
that communication is effective, clear and that it reaches each of the members of
the company. One of the most used means are Policies because through them the
established goals are made known, where the organization's efforts are directed,
and how they should be achieved and all employees participate in performing their
functions. to achieve this common goal.

Another aspect that RSI emphasizes in addition to internal communication is

to develop the principle of equality since both are complementary so that there is
no difference in the treatment of employees, providing development opportunities
under equal conditions without there being discrimination based on sex, position,
age, culture, etc.

Good Internal communication aims to make known the different activities

and the development of functions of each of the members. It is a tool that aims to
influence the generation of behaviors and attitudes formed to comply with the
values imposed by the company and in turn with the efficient fulfillment of the tasks
that each individual performs. It pursues the achievement of three fundamental
objectives; integrate, motivate and inform.

In fulfilling these three objectives, emphasis is placed on the “professional

and personal development of each individual.” Growing as people and achieving
fulfillment in their jobs are some of people's innate needs. Self-realization occurs to
a large extent when we feel fulfilled in the work we do and satisfied with our lives.

Personal development

The personal development of each person is different from another since we

are born with inherent characteristics and over time we can cultivate the positive

3
aspects or strengths and improve the negative aspects or weaknesses to reach the
best potential we have. In addition, emphasis is placed on prioritizing ethics and
moral values that must be considered in every action we undertake. Personal
development is complementary to professional development.

To achieve adequate personal development there are 7 keys that are

acquired with a lot of practice and repetition until they become automatic:
Setting goals : You should not wait for things to come but rather look for
opportunities and make things happen. It is practically impossible for chance to
lead us to achieve the lifestyle we long for. Correct daily planning maximizes the
chances of success.

If we write goals at the beginning of each day, they become etched deep in our
subconscious. In this way we stimulate the mind and are more alert. Throughout
the day, we will see more clearly the opportunities and possibilities to move more
quickly towards our goals.

Planning and organization Take a few minutes, if possible the night before, to
plan all of the next day's activities. Always work from a list. Once we have
determined what is the most important thing for us to achieve during the day, we
should focus on achieving that plan, and not be distracted by other easier or more
pleasant tasks. This is one of the most important and powerful disciplines for high
performance.

Thoroughly use our ability to concentrate. Fear, doubt, worry and anxiety are
internal factors that are trying to prevent our internal balance and our peace of
mind. When we learn to concentrate, it is very difficult for us to be affected by
them. People who are successful focus their time and talent on exactly what they
most want to achieve. They know that their power is greater when they concentrate
on a single point.

The ability to work with your mind focused on the most important tasks will be key
when it comes to achieving success in any discipline and instance of life.

Exercise and proper nutrition, health is more important than anything else.
Exercise regularly and eat carefully. This will promote the highest possible levels of
energy, health and fitness throughout your life.

A little exercise every day keeps us more relaxed, improves concentration,

productivity, creativity and the inner world. Try to find a physical activity that we

4
enjoy. With the abundance of energy that a fitness program provides, you will have
the ability to take steps toward your goals.

Learning and Growth , The mind is like a muscle. If it is not used, it is lost.
Continuous learning is the minimum requirement for success in any field.

The body and mind are intimately linked and if the body is tense, the mind is tense,
unfocused and agitated. When you are under stress, you cannot give your best
and reach your true potential.

Give yourself time every day of at least 20 minutes to be alone and think. It is
necessary to be alone, completely alone to find oneself, to dive inside ourselves
and reflect.

Personal development is really an activity that gives you the knowledge to improve
our lives and includes renewing ourselves and reducing stress. Daily time for
personal development can include reading an inspirational or knowledge book,
listening to an audiobook, watching a video, attending a workshop, practicing
meditation, having a coach or simply, for example, contemplating the sunrise.

Dedicate time to the important people in our lives. Relationships are

everything. We should not let work and obligations take us away from them, nor
make the mistake of thinking that since they are always there, you will spend some
time with them later. The time that passes no longer returns. Place the “special
people” in our lives in the place they deserve.

Be generous, Do something for someone, whether a friend or a stranger,

volunteer, smile and show gratitude, look for ways to be useful to the community.
Collaborating with others and being useful to them can be very rewarding and
helps you relate to other people.

Commit to the realization of these 7 ideas, make this plan of how each of the keys
can be incorporated into our daily lives and incredibly improve the level of
satisfaction and the results of everything we do.

Professional development

Professional development is the result of career planning and includes the

aspects that a person improves in order to achieve objectives within the

5
organization in which they work. It can be given through individual efforts or
through the support of the company where you work.

Individual professional development

It begins in each person through their willingness to achieve their previously

established goals and the acceptance of responsibilities that this implies. Several
steps can be taken, considering possible outcomes:

Obtaining better levels of performance is one of the safest ways to achieve

promotions and recognition at work, which is why emphasis should be placed on
being able to develop your work more and more efficiently, thus achieving more
than what is expected. .

Closer relationship with those who make decisions. Being better known by the
people who carry out promotions and transfers increases their development
possibilities. This does not mean that they spend all their time trying to “buy the
promotion” or attract attention in a way exaggerated, but rather highlighting their
skills and knowledge displayed in their daily work so that they are recognized and
rewarded on many occasions. It must be taken into consideration that there is little
willingness to promote unknown people.

Resignations: When the person considers that there are better opportunities in
another organization, they may be forced to resign. Some change companies as
part of a career development strategy or simply better compensation. This can only
be used in moderation and always taking care not to create the impression of a
lack of stability, because this reflected in your work experience creates a real
disadvantage when looking for new opportunities.

Resources to experts in the field Young employees often turn to the experience
and advice of older people with a longer career history, who do not necessarily
have a higher hierarchical level. This type of step is widely used because young
workers are not always clear about their professional goals and the advice of other
people who have already passed that stage is very useful when focusing and
deciding where they will focus their development.

Resources to key subordinates. Leaders within a company often rely on

subordinates who effectively contribute to their development. Sometimes, the
subordinate has highly valuable specialized knowledge, other times his or her
administrative skills are of great contribution to the department. The professional

6
boost received in this type of way can benefit both parties by becoming a
complement rather than a mere boss and subordinate. Procedures in this
department tend to be made very efficient, and there is a general tendency to
improve performance. This personal association becomes a strong bond of loyalty
within the organization.

Opportunities for progress When employees improve their performance, synergy

is achieved in the company and their priority is to achieve the objectives of their
organization. Both experience in new positions and obtaining new knowledge and
skills constitute bridges for personal growth.

Professional development promoted by the Personnel department

Professional development should not only rely on individual efforts. The

organization also does its part because it has well-defined objectives and can
encourage its members to contribute to achieving them. This has a double effect;
prevent employees' efforts from being dispersed rather than focused on achieving
the company's mission and ensure that everyone is well aware of the opportunities
presented by the company. Several instances may arise from the personnel
department:

Management support The help and encouragement of management in the

professional development of the members of its work team is essential, if there is
no support from the company's directors, the efforts carried out by the personnel
department will have little effect. General management must go far beyond just
accepting these activities; an active interest in the development and growth of all
employees is essential.

Feedback: Without feedback that allows them to know how their professional
performance is evaluated in the company, the employee has little chance of
knowing if they are on the right path that will lead to their development. The
personnel department can provide feedback through performance evaluations
implemented in the company and through information regarding promotion policies

7
and the formulation of new positions. Companies prefer to promote their own
members instead of looking for external candidates because it is a tool that
benefits both parties. On the one hand, it promotes the employees' career plan
and, on the other hand, it is a reliable and low-cost means. Once the most suitable
personnel for the promotion have been chosen, the reason for the choice must be
explained to the other applicants, taken into consideration for future processes and
made known about the skills necessary to access this. In this way, the feeling of
frustration and demotivation is avoided and the continuous improvement of
employees is encouraged.

Provide training , Training also called personnel development is a priority tool in

an organization, it allows improving knowledge, skills, attitudes or behaviors of
members depending on the needs of the company. These needs are discovered
through performance evaluations or job descriptions. It is an investment that
benefits the organization since the worker can better carry out their daily activities
in their position and it also benefits the employee because it encourages their
professional development and provides them with new opportunities.
