INTRODUCTION
The spreadsheet program, in computing, is a program that is mainly applied in balance

sheet tasks, in budgeting and also in tasks in the financial field.

Mostly a spreadsheet program, the data and the formulas necessary to process it are

placed in tabular forms (spreadsheets or worksheets), and are used to analyze, control,

plan or evaluate the impact of actual changes or proposals on an economic strategy.

Spreadsheet programs use rows, columns, and cells; A cell is the intersection of a row

and a column. Each cell can contain text, numerical data, or a formula that uses existing

values in other cells to make a specific calculation (such as adding the data in a set of

cells or multiplying the data in each cell by a factor).

To make calculations easier, these programs include built-in functions that perform

standard operations. If the value of a data is modified, the spreadsheet will allow you to

easily recalculate the results for the new data, which makes these applications so useful

in trend analysis, since they allow you to quickly know the result of applying different

changes and thus choose the most suitable strategy; This is what is popularly known as

analyzing “what would happen if…”. This ability has led to spreadsheets becoming

widely accepted.

CHAPTER I

YO. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

1.1. HISTORY OF THE SPREADSHEET

Some time ago, we Iqueños used software or programs that allowed us to easily create

spreadsheets or statistical tables. These programs evolved until we reached what we

know today as Excel. These programs were Fortran, multical, Lotus 123, and Quatro,

also known as like Qpro and so on until an improved version of Excel 4.2 appears in the

Office packages.

Office. - It is a package where it has different applications such as Word, Excel, Power

Point, Access, one of the first versions was Office 4.2, then Office 95, Office 97, Office

2000, Office XP appeared, with others on the market such as Star Office among others.

Others the difference is that each of them has different applications and their images and

sounds are not all the same.

1.2. DEFINITION

A spreadsheet: The main document used in Excel to store and work with data. It

consists of cells that are organized in rows and columns. A spreadsheet is always stored

in a workbook.

A spreadsheet is a program used to perform mathematical calculations from a simple

level to highly complex operations. It consists of a series of data distributed in cells

arranged by rows and columns. These data can be of various types and are capable of

being related to each other for the final resolution of the calculation.

1.3. TYPES OF SPREADSHEET

EXCEL.

Under the signature of the powerful technology products company, called Microsoft, is

Excel, a digital book that presents a series of spreadsheets.

Many have attributed the appearance of this program to accounting books, in fact, its

popularity is so great that it is the most used in corporations and academies, the

versatility of its functions and aspects makes it the favorite.

It is known for the inclusion of functions to perform arithmetic operations, being well

known for its autosum function, as well as for the ease with which it allows quantities to

be represented in graphs.

LOTUS 1.2.3

It is a program that comes from the company IBM, it has a much more comfortable and

simple interface, in fact, it has a much quicker addition function than that of Excel,

according to which the data entered is adding in the previously selected cells or boxes,

that is, it works similar to that of a calculator.

CALC.

One of the options that has achieved great success for being free, and also for having the

tools that include Excel and Lotus spreadsheets; is Calc, which comes from the Linux

software.

The only difference between this and the others is that it cannot develop large

spreadsheets, but on the contrary, they must be small.

NUMBERS.

This is a program from the Apple company, that is, from the powerful Apple, known for

being a much faster version than Excel itself, which has dialog boxes for each of the

functions that are explained in a clear way. detailed.

In addition to this, it incorporates templates for spreadsheets, in such a way that it

makes the user's work much easier.

KSPREAD.

It is a beta version of Linux, which allows you to import spreadsheets from other

programs, it also shows a much easier to use interface.

QUATTRO PRO.

It is an application developed by a company for Corel, it comes with multiple functions,

which allow the import and conversion of Excel sheets to this and vice versa, the feature

that places it above is the possibility of making multiple, dynamic graphs, and in

addition to creating maps, in order to add statistics to them.

So, being a product offered by Corel, it is quite complete, finding sufficient use among

those who work with qualitative and quantitative statistics.

1.4. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPREADSHEET

 The calculation function can add, subtract, multiply and divide elements using

the formula that is typed in a cell. There are also predetermined formulas called

functions, which can perform simple or relatively complex calculations in a

given order or structure, using specific values called arguments.

 The copy function duplicates the information in a cell, a group of cells, and the

rows and columns of a document.

 The delete function allows you to delete characters and words within cells,

groups of cells, rows and columns.

 The paste function inserts removed or copied material from one cell to another.

 The formatting function is used to format a document, specifying the page,

margin, and tab size, as well as special layout features such as font type, color,

bold, italics, underlining, and highlighting. .

1.5. FUNCTIONS OF SPREADSHEETS

Spreadsheets receive equal parts love and hate , and although they are a very useful and

efficient tool, their misuse can be a waste of time.

The spreadsheet helps us organize numbers and data , relate them to each other, and

obtain reports or summaries in the form of graphs. Thus, we can store and process data

better than with a simple list or a text document.

We have already spoken on several occasions about this type of document. The most

popular sheet editor is Excel from Microsoft , but on the market there are several

alternatives to process spreadsheets that are not inconsiderable, as we saw recently.

Google Sheets, for example, is accessible from any device, we can use it for free, it

integrates with Google Drive to save all kinds of files, and it has features similar to

Excel, such as, for example, the traditional functions .

In the past we saw what were the ten most important Excel functions according to

Microsoft. Today we will see some of the most relevant functions of Google Sheets to

work better and more in less time.

LOOK FOR

Using the SEARCH function, starting from a row or column, we will see the value of

the cell of an interval located in the same position of the row or column.
As the example SEARCH (10003; A1:A100; B1:B100) indicates, we can search in one

or more ranges of values.

COUNT

In statistics, the COUNT function does the same with a series of numerical values from

a data set . In this sense, it ignores the text values of the related cells.

You can count values or intervals . The intervals are expressed with: and the values by;

Unlimited.

In the example COUNT (A2:A100; B2:B100; 4; 26) we see intervals and combined

values.

Another similar function is COUNTIF , which also counts values within an interval but

taking into account certain conditions or criteria.

CHOOSE

Practical for searching for elements in a list, the CHOOSE function displays an element

from a list of options based on the index we have indicated.

The index supports up to 30 values and we can list an individual cell or value as

options.

FIND

The FIND function tells us the position at which a string is first found in the text .

The example that Google proposes: FIND (“oaks”; “How many oaks would a rodent

gnaw if rodents gnawed on oaks?”; 14)

Another similar function is FINDRB , which tells the position at which a string is first

found within the text by counting each double character as two .

DATE

Google Sheets has several functions related to dates. The most popular is DATE and

converts the given year, month and day into a date.

MAX and MIN

Through MAX and MIN we will find, respectively, the maximum value and the

minimum value of a numerical data set.

We can use individual values or intervals.

AVERAGE

The AVERAGE function is used to work with statistics, and consists of giving the

numerical average value of a set of data, without taking into account the text.

Another similar function is AVERAGEIF , which shows the average of an interval

based on several criteria.

CONCLUSIONS
Spreadsheets are tools designed to do numerical operations. With them you can perform

mathematical, statistical, technical and financial calculations, but it is very common that

when working with Excel we do not take full advantage of its resources. The Excel

spreadsheet is a Windows application whose purpose is to perform calculations on data

entered in it, as well as the presentation of these values graphically. Added to this

capacity is the possibility of using it as a database. It could be said about the spreadsheet

that it is basically a tool for commercial management in a business, and that it can be

used for multiple purposes, of course all of them related to the computer manipulation
of numbers and data. A spreadsheet is capable of organizing and managing enormous

amounts of data, the main objective of the application being the possibility of obtaining

results by interrelating said data, with which we can have an exact overview of the

movements of a company. In this sense, all spreadsheets provide the necessary tools to

add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in cells using formulas or functions. These

functions are an important part of a spreadsheet
