2. A ball is thrown upward with an initial velocity of 80 feet per second. The height h
(in feet) traveled in t seconds is given by the formula

2
h=80 t−16 t

a) After how many seconds will the ball reach a height of 64 feet?
b) How long will it take for the ball to return to the ground?

3. A projectile is fired vertically upward from the ground with an initial velocity of
128 feet per second. The projectile is at a height h after t seconds of launch, where
2
h=128 t−16 t .
a) After how long will the projectile be at a height of 192 feet above the ground?
b) At what moment will the projectile return to the ground? Determine the
maximum height that the projectile reaches.
4. A seller sold a watch for $75. Their profit percentage was equal to the cost price in
dollars. Determine the cost price of the watch.

5. For every $100 invested in secured business loans, a bank receives $116.64 after 2
years. This amount represents the principal and interest compounded annually.
What is the annual interest rate?

6. Each week, a company can sell x units of its product at a price of p dollars each,
where p=600−5 x . It costs the company(8,000+75 x ) dollars produce x units.

a) How many units must the company sell each week to generate revenue of
$17,500?
b) What price per unit should the company charge to obtain a weekly income of
$18,000?
c) How many units must you produce and sell each week to obtain a weekly profit
of $5,500?
d) At what price per unit will the company generate a weekly profit of $5,750?

7. If a publisher prices a book at $20, 20,000 copies will be sold. For every peso that
increases the price, 500 books will no longer be sold. What must the cost of each
book be to generate total sales revenue of $425,000?
