Pre Interview Task

Part of your role at Makerble will include setting up an organisation on the Makerble Platform. This
task gets you to do part of the setup for a fictional client. Follow the steps outlined below.

Introduction
Hostel of Care is a fictional nonprofit based in Leicester that has recently become a Makerble
client. Hostel of Care provides accommodation and counselling services to people who have
severe mental health difficulties. Hostel of Care has a good reputation as an organisation that
helps people struggling with mental health in Leicester and as such, the local doctors, members of
the police force and staff at other charities will often come across someone who has a mental
health difficulty and recommend that the person is helped by Hostel of Care. This is called a
‘referral’ and the way it works is that the referrer, e.g. the local doctor, with the consent of the
person with mental health difficulties, will complete a Public form that contains the details of the
person suffering from mental health difficulties. They will then send that completed Public form to
Hostel of Care by physical post.

Up until now, Hostel of Care has had a paper-based Public form that doctors send to them via
physical post. When Hostel of Care accepts a person with mental health difficulties into their
hostel, they put the person’s details in a spreadsheet. This was fine when Hostel of Care was
working with 10 residents at a time in one building but now that the organisation has opened three
more buildings, they need a better way to receive referrals and keep track of the people they are
helping. This is why they have chosen to switch to Makerble.

Your pre interview task is to set up Hostel of Care on Makerble so that they can receive referrals.

Before You Start

1. You should not create an account on the official Makerble site. You have to use the link
provided in the respective steps. Violating this rule will result in disqualification.
2. You should not reach out to help on the Makerble Platform since the purpose of this
assessment is to test your attention to detail, your problem solving ability and your
understanding of how to use software. However, you can reach out to the HR via email
([email protected]) if you’re facing significant difficulties.
3. While creating an account, you may receive an email to book a meeting. You must NOT
book a demo or a meeting. If you see a link to do that, please ignore it.
Steps
1. Create a user account on Makerble using this link (Don’t use the option to sign up with
Facebook, Google, etc; use the Email Address option instead) -
https://www.makerble.com/personal-sign-up
2. Once signed up and logged in: create an organisation called Hostel of Care.
a. (Feel free to make up other information that goes in the Create Organisation page -
we’re not assessing your creativity so don’t feel under pressure to go into lots of
detail here).
b. Guidance on how to do this step is available on this page of the User Guide page
c. As the Organisation Type: select Company
3. Create a project called Counselling
4. Create a Contact Form based on this paper-form that the charity uses)
a. Start by creating a Category/List field called Patient’s Ethnicity and include a few
countries as options in this field - 5 countries is enough, you don’t need to include
every country in the world! (Steps)
b. Then create a new Contact Form called Patients and add the fields below to it
(Steps)
i. Note that Name, Date of Birth, Address are already included in the Contact
Form so you don’t need to add those.
ii. In addition, there are other hidden fields that are displayed that you should
ignore as they won’t appear on the final form, e.g. Beneficiary Type, Foreign
ID, etc.
iii. Start by adding the Ethnicity field you created - it should be in the Find a
field section
iv. Now press Save, even though you haven’t added all the other fields yet
v. You’ll arrive on the Manage Contact Forms page. Now press Edit to edit your
newly created Contact Form
vi. Now that you’re editing an existing Contact Form, the Create New Field or
Question button appears. Use it to create the other fields and the section,
e.g. Why this person needs our help. (Note: this button only appears once
you have first saved the Contact Form and then gone back to edit it)
c. This annotated diagram shows you the different types of field to create. We expect
you to create ALL of these fields.

5. Add the Patients Contact Form to the Counselling project and turn on the Waiting List.
(Steps)
6. Create a Signup Page (Steps)
a. called “Potential Patients”
b. that uses the Patients contact form
c. to add people to the Waiting List of that project
7. Copy the Share link to your new Signup Page (Steps)
8. Open a new Incognito Window in Google Chrome
9. Paste the Signup Page web link in the Incognito Window
10. Your Signup Page should appear
a. On Page 1: Fill in the fields of the Signup Page with the details of a fictional person
who is suffering from mental health difficulties. The first page should display the
Contact Form
11. Now go back to your other Chrome window where you are signed into Makerble
12. Go to the Contacts App, press the Contact Filters button and tick the Waiting List state;
then press Apply.
13. The page should display the contact that you have just created.
14. When you click the name of the contact, you should be taken to their Contact Profile page
and on the left hand side it should display all of the completed fields that were entered on
the Signup Page. Capture a screenshot of this page (e.g. using Awesome Screenshot if
you’re unsure how to capture a screenshot of a web page), it will look a little bit like this
15. That’s it. You’ve successfully created a Signup Page that Hostel of Care can share with their
referral partners. Now that you have created the Signup Page, you need to provide
instructions that explain how to use it. We are keen to see how good you are at
communicating and explaining how to use Makerble.
a. Create a free account on www.loom.com in which you explain to a new person, how
to complete the Hostel of Care referral form that you have made. (Hearing, but also
Watching).
i. Once you have generated your loom video, follow these steps to generate a
shareable link for your Loom video:
https://support.loom.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002208157-How-to-share-y
our-recording
ii. Test that it works by trying to open your loom video link in an incognito
window.
16. Finally, provide your answers to these questions. You can add your answers in the form
shown in step 17:
a. What are your suggestions and recommendations on how we could improve the
User Experience of the Makerble platform?
b. What involvement have you had with charitable work or helping people who are in
need? Preferably volunteering or actually working for a charity. What did you learn
from the experience?
c. What are you hoping to gain from this role?
d. If you have found any bugs - please provide details of them using a video
17. Please submit your completed assessment (including links to the Signup Page and video,
etc) for the points numbered 14, 15, and 16 using this form:
https://makerble.zohorecruit.in/jobs/Careers/101712000000983034/Manual-SoftwareTes
ting?source=CareerSite
a. On clicking the above link, you’ll be redirected to the job description page. Read it
before proceeding further.
b. Next, fill up the application form.
c. Finally, submit your completed assessment by entering your responses.
18. Note: If you do not have a Google Account, you need to create one. At Makerble we use
Google Drive services so you must be familiar with the Google Drive interface.
a. You will need to upload your CV to the form. When you do, make sure that you
have set the Share setting on your CV to be visible to anyone with the link so that
we can view it instantly. Otherwise, we will have to request access which will delay
the process of reviewing your application.
