INDUSTRIAL COATING MACHINE

Industrial coating machine, also called edging machine with lower coating and lower table, or
edging machine with lower and upper coating and flat table, is a machine that is used to give
finishes and fulfill the function of a bastera, being used in knitted fabrics.

It is necessary to know the main parts of this machine in order to obtain optimal operating
performance.

MAIN PARTS OF THE COATING MACHINE

> HEAD: It is the cast and machined part, where the entire machine mechanism is
located.
> Table: It is made up of a flat wooden surface, covered with laminate (Formica type) and
a hell of a shelf.
> MOTOR: It is a continuously rotating electrical equipment that has an engaged clutch.
The clutch can be simple or electromagnetic and is used to start or stop the machine.
> CONE HOLDER: Positions the thread cones
> SINGLE LEVER OR BUTTON SWITCH: Connects or disconnects the machine motor.
> FLYWHEEL: Operates the head mechanisms.
> PRESSER FOOT ACTUATOR PEDAL: Operates the presser foot and decreases the thread
tension.
NOMENCLATURE OF THE COATING MACHINE HEAD

Let's look at the component parts of the head:

> PRESSER FOOT PRESSURE REGULATOR SCREW: Regulates the pressure

> NEEDLE BAR THREAD PIN: Positions and removes the thread from the cone to feed the needle and
act on the formation of the stitch.
> THREAD GUIDE: Positions the cone thread to feed the needle.
> TENSIONER ASSEMBLY: Controls the tension of the looper needle threads.
> ARM COVER: Access to the needle bar and presser foot mechanisms.
THREADING THE THREAD INTO THE COATING
MACHINE
It consists of placing the thread following the indicated scheme.

1st Step.
a) Disconnect electrical power to the machine.
b) Open the needle thread Coolant Tank cover (1)
c) Open the bobbin thread puller cover (2).
d) Open the front cover (3).
e) Remove the table slider (4) from the right when using the cutter
front for sewing belt loops.

2nd Step. Refer to the following diagram to thread the thread throughout the machine.
THREADING:

Follow the procedure shown in the figure to thread the thread throughout the machine.

I or Step: Disconnect the electrical power to the machine.

20 Passed: Pass the threads through the needle thread coolant tank.

30 Passed: Pass the threads through the thread guide and the thread tensioner to the needle.
4th
Step: Thread the threads into the hooks.

- The construction may have defects, due to threading the thread incorrectly, if

a. HE break the thread

b. HE some jump Stitches

c. HE needle breaks

d. The son tension is insufficient.

LUBRICATION SYSTEM
Due to the high speed developed by the continuous Let's see how this lubrication is processed.
lubrication process. mechanism, there is a need for it to be subject still

Lubrication system

Its purpose is to circulate the oil through the mechanism, thus lubricating the head:

ATTENTION: In this machine the lubrication system was carried out

through drops, conductive wicks and oil return tubes.
Below, the most important points or lubricate:
• Needle bearing and needle bar actuator lever connecting rod universal joint.
• Articulation horn and needle bar actuator lever fixing pin.
• Needle bar and presser foot mechanisms.
• Oscillating shaft, shuttle crank arm actuator and horn supports.
• Right drive shaft support horn.
• Left support horn, running-in of the drive shaft eccentrics, crank arm connecting rod connector.
• Shuttle oscillator support shaft coils, universal shuttle connecting rod bracket only.
• Shuttle connecting rod needle bearing.
Recommended lubrication oil: Use the oil supplied by “Brother” for equivalent and high quality
lubrication.

Oil addition:

1. Remove the plug (1). Use a funnel and add oil until the level reaches the top line of the gauge.

The oil level should be between the two lines.

2. Run the machine and check that the oil can be seen in the sight glass.

3. Before starting to sew, place 2 or 3 drops of oil on the needle bar (2) when using the machine for the first time or after leaving
it unused for several days.

Oil drain

Remove the drain plug (1) from the bottom of the tank to drain all the oil. Change this oil once every 3 months or so.
CAUTION
As the oil accumulated in the filter can leak out
(Niseki Sewing lube 15) or other oil
when removing the cover, I am careful when doing

so.

Oil filter change

Immediately change the oil filter (1) if too little oil

is sprayed into the sight glass or bubbles
appear, even though it is within the correct
levels.

Dismantle the filter cover (2) to change it and,

every 6 months, check that it is not clogged.
