GROUP ASSIGNMENT

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS:

• This assignment will contribute 50% to your final grade.


• This is a group assignment; students are required to form a group of 3 or less but not
a single person.
• Named the assignment file “ASG_studentID1_studentID2_studentID3”.
• ONLY one report MUST submit via SPECTRUM.
ASSIGNMENT QUESTIONS:

Propose and design a network for a 3-storey building which every host is connected in each
floor and each floor is connected to establish the complete network for the building.
Details of every floor as follows:

Consider several criteria needed when designing the network layout as follows:

1. All Hosts in the Account and Finance Department’s network can only communicate
between them and can access Server A, B and C.
2. All hosts in Marketing and Sales Department and Administrative Department can
communicate EXCEPT Account and Finance Department and Account Server.
3. The managers can communicate with all hosts in the building.

You are required to draw a network layout plan in order all hosts in this building could
communicate with each other. Using several networking devices that you have learn, draw a
Logical Topology (you may consider any network addresses) and Physical Topology to
illustrate your network layout plan. You are not required to assign an IP address for every
devices. Each floor must have 1 router with 3 interface to be installed in the topology.
