Once the GUC232 Driver is installed (for Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8), we verify that our GUC232 cable and
X187 or S187 are connected to the PC or laptop. We go to Device Manager (Control Panel/Systems and
Security/System) and verify that our ATEN-USB is correctly installed and is within COM1 to COM8 .

3.- If we get an error or lack of compatibility in either the GUC232 cable driver or the Loop Explorer
software, we go to these web addresses to download the features that our PC or Laptop has.

ATEN-USB cable is installed in Device Manager).

such as Windows 8, 7, or Vista.

Later you can open the Loop Explorer by double clicking on the Loop Explorer Software Symbol:

- When we double click on the Loop Explorer Symbol, the following will appear:
Note: If you choose the “Connect to a FireNET Panel” Option, because your Software is already
configured
Loop Explorer o This is your first time using Loop Explorer on this PC. Always say NO in
Dial-Up option, this function is no longer used.
4.- It will ask us where we will save our “.hsa (Hochiki FireNET Program file extension)” file.
Note: You can review Chapter 9 of the Operating Manual as well as the slides from day 3 of FireNET
Hochiki Training.

5.- We go to the FILE window, we go to Options and choose the COM port where our USB cable is
installed, in that same window we click on the “misc” tab and we choose where to save or store our
files .hsa (hochiki programs that we create or develop).

We choose the Port where our Installed Programming Cable was (in this example it is
COM 3).
In this same window we go to the “Misc” tab to choose a folder where our .hsa file or default program
will be saved.

6.- Finally we go to “CONNECT”:
We click on Connect
