Start
Work Steps :
a. Prepare tools and materials.
b. Fill a le chatelier bottle with kerosene or naphtha to a scale
between 0-1, dry the inside of the bottle on a liquid surface
c. Insert the bottle with the liquid into the water bath let it get a
constant temperature then read the scale on the bottle (V1).
d. Put the cement test specimen in the bottle little by little,
keeping the test specimen from sticking to the bottle wall or
the liquid surface.
e. After all test specimens are inserted, slowly rotate the bottle in
an inclined position until air bubbles no longer appear on the Step 2

= 3,00 gram/cm3
2) Specific gravity II = ×1

= 2,87 gram/cm3
3) Specific gravity III = ×1

= 3,06 gram/cm3
4) Specific gravity IV = ×1

= 3,02 gram/cm3
b. Average of Specific Gravity of Cement

= 2, 99 gram/cm3
8. Conclusion
From the calculation, the specific gravity obtained is 2,99 gram/cm3.
This value does not comply with the specifications of SK SNI 03–2531–
1991 with a value of 3.00 – 3.20.
9. Suggestion
a. When pouring cement, be careful not to spill it because it will affect
the specific gravity.
b. When reading the vessel, you must be careful and careful.
10. Constraint
The lack of equipment means that practitioners have to take turns
