Importance of Technical Drawing

Technical drawing is important for artisanal and industrial work as it allows objects to be represented and designs to be communicated. It is fundamental to engineering, as engineers use drawings to create plans, calculate structures, and work with manufacturers. Furthermore, drawing has been the primary way to convey ideas for millennia, and understanding and working with drawings is an essential skill for engineering professionals.

IMPORTANCE OF THE TECHNICAL DRAWING

Drawing is an art whose main objective is to graphically represent shapes

and ideas. Currently, technical drawing is an important pillar of artisanal and
industrial work. The technical drawing is used as a means of expression and
communication or as a link between the project and its execution, such as plans for
structures, pipe installations, electrical networks, etc. Technical drawing includes a
set of principles and rules where an object is represented by its lines.

Drawing is the primary and basic technique of all manifestations of the

plastic arts. Behind each artistic manifestation (painting, sculpture, ceramics,
among others) one glimpses the execution, real or mental, of a previous drawing.
Thanks to drawing it is possible to solve certain problems, for example: when
making a painting, the assessment of tones, the composition of form or
perspective, could not be easily solved without having the knowledge and practices
of drawing.

THE IMPORTANCE OF DRAWING IN THE PROFESSIONAL WORK OF

ENGINEERING

Without technical drawings, engineering would be a discipline full of

assumptions. Technical drawings allow engineers to create designs, calculate
forces and stresses in structures, and work with manufacturers. The ability to
understand and work with technical drawings does not make someone a good
engineer, but it is a necessary skill to be an expert in the profession.

It can be said that for more than twenty thousand years, drawing has been
the most important means of transmitting ideas through lines and graphics. The
oldest human records are graphic and describe people and animals on rock faces
of caves. These drawings covered an elementary need for expression long before
the development of writing, but with its development, drawing was used mainly by
artists and engineering designers as a means of publicizing ideas about the
construction of finished works.
From the Industrial Revolution to the present day, the engineer and/or
designer must be able to create sketches or sketches of ideas, represent the
design with clear and precise plans, calculate tensions and forces, analyze
movements, measure pieces, specify materials and methods of construction.
production, formulate design plans and sequels, and supervise the preparation of
drawings and specifications that will control the numerous details of production,
assembly, and maintenance of the industrial product.

As the student learns basic drawing skills, they also increase their general
technical knowledge and learn the engineering and manufacturing processes
involved in production. Not all students will choose to major in drawing; However,
for anyone who works in any field of industry it is essential that they understand
and use this graphic language and this also includes those who aspire to perform
skilled trades or become technicians or engineers of any specialty.

According to what professionals believe, drawing is one of the first forms of

art that human beings can access to express themselves even unconsciously.
Thus, as children we are encouraged to draw and practice our expressiveness
through drawing, a creative form much more accessible than, for example,
sculpture.

my own words

Drawing is an art that seeks to graphically represent shapes and ideas. This
is very important in the professional's work since it allows us to create designs,
among others. The ability to understand and work with drawings is necessary for
an expert. Previously, things that happened were described through drawings or
graphics of people, animals in caves, this was the way in which they expressed
themselves before writing arrived, but when writing was developed, drawings were
not used as often; only by artists and engineering designers, engineering as such
could not work if you did not have the knowledge and practices of drawing.

An engineer must be able to create sketches where he can represent the

design with clear and precise plans, specify materials, among others in order to
create what he wants to achieve. As he learns basic drawing skills, he also
increases knowledge. achieved on general techniques and engineering processes
are learned.

For anyone who wants to study engineering or join that as a profession, they
must understand and use this graphic language as well as anyone who works in
any field of industry since I understand that drawing is one of the first forms of art
that we could access or take as a means of communicating even unconsciously.
Since we are children we are encouraged to draw and practice drawing to say
something in a creative and dynamic way, which is much better than writing.
