SYSTEM TESTING PROCEDURE
FIRE ALARM AND DETECTION

The Fire Alarm and Detection System must be inspected and tested. This is to comply with
the provisions of the NFPA 72 standard, and manufacturers recommend that all initiating
devices such as supervision modules, detectors and manual stations be subjected to a test
and inspection, which must be completed in a protocol. of operation that will validate what
was reported .

1. Control Panel (4007ES)

It is responsible for receiving the signal from initiation devices such as supervision
modules, smoke and temperature detectors or sensors, in addition to manual stations and
giving warning through sound or light notification systems (Horn Strobe) .

Taking into consideration the Buttons:

Fire: Fire.
Alarm Function: Alarm functions.
Signal Silence: Silence the Sirens with Strobe.
Drill: Drill button.

2. Manual Station
It is a manual action device that requires the human factor to activate. This device sends a
signal to the alarm panel indicating the possibility of a fire or situation that requires an
evacuation.

3. Smoke Sensor
It is a system device that is activated by the presence of smoke
in the area where it was installed; generally, the alarm panel
indicates the precise place where it is presumed there may be a
fire.

5. PROCEDURE FOR ACTIVATION OF AN ALARM

STEP 1.- In the first instance, the manual station will be activated or the drill will be carried
out with the sensor, spraying artificial smoke on it at a safe distance of 15cm. If there is a
lack of distance to reach the sensor, then the sensor will be placed. A ladder on one side of
the sensor for ease of testing .
