SESSION 2024-25
Grade 5
It’s summertime again. Time for strengthening family bonds, tying threads of family tree, sharing joys and sorrows, having a good time together. Do
shower your love and care on people around you and get loads of blessings in return. With summer holidays around the corner, our hearts swell up with
a spectrum of emotions. To maintain the educational continuum and to keep in view the rejuvenation you need, enriching homework for the holidays is
designed to keep you constructively busy and put boredom at bay. The activity-based assignments will foster curiosity, develop creativity, enhance
knowledge and instill the joy of learning among you all. So, don your thinking cap, wear your magic mantle to put forth your creative side.
Few points to remember while doing your task.
• Neatness and presentation are common parameters for most of the activities assigned.
• Holiday homework will be assessed on the parameters of content, presentation and creativity. Marks/grade will be awarded accordingly.
Request to parents.
Summer vacation time is an opportunity to spend quality time with your child and make them feel special because of their unique identity. So kindly
encourage your child to do the following:
• Let your child watch some entertaining educational TV shows such as discovery kids, animal planet and make the learning interesting.
• Engage them to learn music/dance/theatre/ any other dance form to bring them close to India’s Art & Culture.
• Talk about omni presence of God and humility being developed with regular prayers and doing good deeds as to offer best prayer to the
God.
• Watch some good movies with your ward on love, compassion, humanity, kindness, forgiveness for example Life is Beautiful, Finding
Nemo, Lion King etc.
• Talk about the importance of parents and elders.
Importance of Life Skills in Education
"We must prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child."
As we continue to navigate through the modern-day challenges brought about by rapidly evolving technology, globalization and most recently, a worldwide
pandemic, the necessity of equipping our younger generations with practical and sensorial life skills has never been more glaringly apparent. Academic
performance alone does not measure a student’s ability to succeed in life. The role of education plays an important role where education must be intended to
improve the quality of life, not just preparing oneself for improving chances of getting a job but enhancing the scholastic development of the child.
Life skill education refers to the fundamental abilities that assist children in developing the skills required to deal with life’s realities. These skills enable them to
learn new things, gain control over their behaviour and make informed decisions. The objective of this Holiday Homework is to provide the students opportunities
at home to get involved in projects that provide real world examples and lessons in decision making and problem solving. We have tried to include the essential
life skills which every person must possess and even those recommended by the World Health Organisation.
