Pivot Chart along with
the Pivot Table in a
new worksheet named
“Sheet 1”.
Notice the “Raw Defect
Data” sheet, your
original data file,
remains unaffected.

Raw Data worksheet (the
data you will chart)

Let’s see what happens when we begin to populate the pivot chart
To further enhance the Replace “Total” in the chart title box with a description of the time period
chart and give it MORE this chart represents.
CONTEXT we’ll drag and
drop “Defect Description”
from the “Pivot Chart
Fields” selection to the
lower left “AXIS” column.
When we do this the
chart separates the
defects by their
description. We then
modify the chart title box
to describe what the
picture of the data
represents.
