1. How do you differentiate formal communication from informal communication in relation to


purpose and style? Provide situations to illustrate the differences.
- Formal communication is commonly employed in professional or formal environments. It is
usually engage in discussions related business affairs. While informal communication it is usually
serves social or personal purposes. I can say that formal communication is usually used at work related
discussions and informal communication used for non-work-related discussions.

2. How can you ensure the success of communication in relation to the purpose and style?
- In communication, it is important to know how to adapt, especially in situations that may
require changing the way we communicate from informal to formal. Additionally, active listening is
crucial. The purpose of active listening is to respond and provide feedback based on what we receive
from others during communication.

3. How can visual communication enhance the message conveyed by a speaker? Cite
particular situations when it is best to employ visual communication.
- Visual communication can enhance a speaker’s message through storytelling, illustrating a
narrative to make the message more relatable and memorable. Additionally by using visual aids such as
diagrams, charts, and graphs can make it easier for the audiences to understand and remember the
speaker’s message, even when dealing with complex information.

4. Among the stated ethics of communication, which do you think is the least observed?
Explain.
- “Avoid speaking for others, for example by characterizing what others have said without
checking your understanding, or by universalizing your opinions, beliefs, values, and conclusion,
assuming everyone shares them”. This stated ethics of communication that is often observed because
people sometimes make assumptions about what others think or feel without actually listening to their
perspectives. This may result to miscommunication or misunderstanding. It effectively conveys the
importance of active listening and understanding others instead of making assumptions about their
thoughts or beliefs.
