LAB REPORT : 01
ABSTRACT:
Attackers are evolving their attacks, increasing complexity and opportunities. Proactive defense with zero
trust micro segmentation is crucial. This session teaches how to build and enforce consistent segmentation
policies with Cisco Secure Workload, defending complex application infrastructure.Examine several
kinds of network cables and use a clamping tool to practically install straight through and cross-wired
cables.

INTRODUCTION:
Attackers are continuously evolving their approach to wreak maximum damage and profit through
increasingly sophisticated attacks. With applications deployed across data centre and multiple clouds, the
attack surface area continues to expand, complexity rises and the opportunity for the attacker grows.
Establishing proactive defence with zero trust micro segmentation is more important than ever to restrict
lateral movement and the propagation of malware. In this session, participants will learn how to build and
enforce consistent segmentation policy with Cisco Secure Workload, leveraging enforcement points
across hosts, firewalls and cloud security controls to defend and harden a dynamic and complex
application infrastructure.

LAB TASK: 1(a)

QUESTION:01
Write the combination of wires which we can use to connect the devices?

ANSWER:
PC TO PC => cross over
ROUTER TO PC => straight through
PC TO SWITCH => straight through
SWITCH TO SWITCH => cross over
HUB TO ROUTER => straight through
ROUTER TO ROUTER=> cross over

QUESTION:02
Write the whole information of written over UTP cable?

ANSWER:
Molex premise network powercat S5E UTP prtale cord TEC 332.14 PR CTI 29/12/06 0036445M.
QUESTION:03

How many pins are there in RJ-45 connector and what are the pin number used for TX and RX in cross
and straight cable combination , draw in pin diagram.

ANSWER:
Internally , RJ-45 connector contain 8 pins and 8 wires position used to handle signals to power so they
can accumulate 4 twisted wires pair.
