3) What is the procedure for getting admission in your college?

Answer: The candidate can take admission in the college through Government of
Maharashtra, Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and through Institute Level

Answer: Yes, We have boys and girls hostel.

13) Students who didn't appear for MHT-CET or JEE (in the year seeking admission), can
they take admission for Engineering?
Answer: No. The MHT-CET/ JEE Score is compulsory for taking admission in
Engineering.

14) Can a student who has completed Diploma, take admission in First Year Engineering
if he is not getting DSY admission?
Answer: Yes, but only if he has appeared for MHT-CET and/or JEE of the current
year.

15) Can I complete the course on a part time basis?

Answer: No. Our institute provides all full time courses only.

16) The total course is divided in how many semesters?

Answer: The Four Years full time degree course is divided into 8 semesters.

17) When will the institute return my original documents collected at the time of
admission?
Answer: Your original documents will be retained by the Institute until the
completion of the first year of engineering. We will however give you an
acknowledgement for your original documents.

18) What is the difference between B.E. and B.Tech?

Answer: Practically there is no difference in B.E & B.Tech, B. E. is Bachelor of
Engineering & B. Tech. is Bachelor of Technology. In the state of Maharashtra most
 of the Universities have named the engineering course as B.E while IIT’s & few
autonomous institutes have named their programmes as B.Tech.

19) Are the students trained to be placed in big MNC’s?

Answer: Yes. We train our students in soft skills to appear for aptitude test and GD.

20) Do you focus on regular placement activities?

Answer: We have regular activities of Campus placement going on in the college and
also we have tie-ups with some of the job-placement agencies for off-campus
placement.

21) Does college take extra efforts for Students who are interested in post-graduation?
Answer: Yes, Each department conducts expert lectures and seminars, motivates and
guides students for appearing for GATE, Toffel, GRE etc. We also helps our students
for recommendation in foreign universities.

25) What are the college hours?

Answer: College hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4.30 PM.

26) How far is the college from Pune Station, Bus Stand and Airport?
Answer: From Pune station, we are about 0.5 kilometre, Bus stand is 1 km and from
the Airport it is 7 kilometres. The college is in the heart of the city and is well
connected by road, train and long distance bus services.

27) Do you have canteen/food court in college campus?

28) What Sports, Cultural & Other facilities do you provide?

Answer: We have all types of outdoor and indoor game facilities like a Cricket
ground, Football ground, Basketball ground, fully equipped Gymnasium, Table
tennis, and many more sports facilities. We also have separate facilities for cultural
activities and we have provided all Musical instruments like Drum set, Tabala,
 Guitars etc.,. College also have NSS unit which is very active in conducting Social
activities like Sawach Bharat Abhiyan, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Blood donation Camp
etc., They have also adopted a village near Pune for conducting various activities like
cleaning, educating villagers, creating Library for School etc.,

29) What extra –circular activities take place on campus?

Answer: We encourage students to participate in activities like Sports, Cultural and
Technical events through Baja, Supra, Codigo Madrid, Robotics. Every year College
organizes a State Level Technical Event called "Engineering Today" , Inter College
Sports and Cultural Event called "Ashwamedh" and Social Gathering and Annual
Prize Distribution called "Shivanjali".

30) How qualified is the faculty?

Answer: Our 99% of faculty members have a post-graduate degree and hands-on
experience of average seven years. We have many PhD faculties and most of our
faculty members are currently pursuing their PhD as well.

Answer: The college is located in the heart of Pune city near Pune and is well
connected by Railway, Bus and Air. We provide bus service from institute to hostel.

Answer: The is having best of all infrastructure. We have well equipped Labs with
latest equipments, Computers and furniture. All our classrooms have LCD projectors
& screens and are connected through LAN. We have a Separate Seminar hall for each
department. Also we have smart classrooms for each departments. We all latest
software required for teaching as per syllabus. We have well stock Library with
branch wise books and a online E-Learning resources which a students can excess by

36) Who can I contact if I face a personal crisis during my stay ?

Answer: There is a Mentor system where each teacher is assign 20 students to solve
their personal problems also we have General Students Association to look after
 students issues and we have grievance cell where the students can send mail stating
their problems and on receipt of any complaint remedial actions are taken
immediately.

37) What are the measures taken against ragging in the institute ?
Answer: We adhere to very strict Anti-Ragging Policy. We have Anti Ragging
Committee and Anti Ragging Squad who see that no Ragging activity is there in the
college and hostels. Any student caught misbehaving with his/her peers will face
serious consequences.

39) What are the seats reservation norms for the admission?
Answer: The reservation of seats and eligibility Criteria for Admission are as per
DTE Rules
 65% seats are reserved for Maharashtra State candidates having domicile
certificate of Maharashtra. The details of domicile can be checked by visiting
Website : www.mahacet.org under admission type. These seats are filled on
the basis of MHT-CET score only.
 15% seats are reserved for All India quota. These seats are filled on the basis
of JEE score and the candidate from Maharashtra and Outside Maharashtra
State can apply for admission under this quota. Domicile certificate of
Maharashtra state is not required for applying under this quota.
● 20% Seats are filled through Institute level quota and both Maharashtra and
Outside Maharashtra State candidate can apply for admission under this quota.

 ● Candidate should have passed HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra
State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent
examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics are compulsory and
optional subjects are Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology & Technical
Vocational. Choose any one from optional subject and secured a minimum of
50% marks (45% in case of Backward Class candidates).
● After Centralise Admission Process (CAP) if any seats are vacant then such
seats are filled at the institute level under Vacant seat round as per the
admission procedure.
● GOI nominee and J & K migrants have a quota of one seat in each
department. They have to apply to Directorate of Technical Education (DTE),
Maharashtra State for release of seats.

40) What are Production S/W and Mechanical S/W courses?

Answer: The Mechanical and Production Sandwich courses provides an opportunity
to students to get exposed to the industries environment and to interact with industry
professionals during one year industrial in plant training as an essential component of
four year Degree course. The students have to undergo industrial in plant training in
the second semester of third year and first semester of final year for six months each.
The placement of students in industry is done by College. The training is conducted in
reputed industries like TATA Motors, Thermax, SKF Bearing, JCB, John Deere,
Volkswagen, L’OREAL, Mercedes-Benz, GM, Crompton Greaves, Sandvik Asia,
Forbes Marshall, Alfa-Laval, Bosch etc.
The Sandwich courses of four years duration and is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi
and Government of Maharashtra. The Degree is given by Savitribai Phule Pune
University. The Sandwich students’ training is essential as per the University
curriculum and it is also recognized by Board of Apprenticeship training as per
Apprenticeship Act-1973.
The students who have completed their Sandwich courses certainly get benefited by
the one year in-plant training the undergo as these students get weight-age of such
training. When they apply for their master’s admission in us Universities also many
industries give placement to students in some industry where they undergo in plant
training. Also during campus placement these students get advantage as they have one
year industrial in plant training experience.
Now as per new policy of AICTE, every student is required to undergo Internship in
industry. So our Sandwich students have benefit of such industrial training as part of
their syllabus and course.
