potential due to the pair at the middle point of the line joining the two charges.
REF: (HC Verma 29.4/108)

2. 𝐴
The electric field in a region is given by 𝐸⃗ = ( 3 ) 𝑖.
𝑥
(a) Write a suitable SI unit for A.
(b) Write an expression for the potential in the region assuming the potential at infinity
to be zero.
REF: (HC Verma 16/118)

3. A charge of 2 µC moves with a speed of 2 x 106 ms-1 along the negative x-axis. A
⃗ of strength (0.20 𝑗̂ + 0.40𝑘̂ )T exists in space. Find the magnetic force
magnetic field 𝐵

4. A current of 2.00 A exists in a square loop of edge 20 cm. Find the magnetic field B at
the center of the square loop. REF: (HC Verna 4/244)

5. A conducting circular loop is placed in a uniform magnetic field B= 0.02 T with its
plane perpendicular to the field. Somehow, the radius of the loop starts shrinking at a
constant rate of 1.0 mms-1. Find the induced emf in the loop at an instant when the
radius is 2cm. REF: (HC Verma 1/296)

6. The maximum electric field in a plane electromagnetic wave is 600 NC-1. The wave is
going in the x-direction and the electric field is in the y-direction. Find the maximum
magnetic field in the wave and its direction. REF: (HC Verma 40.2/334)

7. Calculate the Laplacian of the function 𝑣 = 𝑥 2 𝑥̂ + 3𝑥𝑧 2 𝑦̂ − 2𝑥𝑧𝑧̂
