- From my observation, there are various things that people tend to think of when making

- Well I believe that I know best about my own preferences so selecting choices such as
clothes, foods or activities for my life is not a challenging task, however, if I have to engage
in a teamwork and participate in a project, I believe that discussing with other participants
will be much better since we all have different perspectives about various fields so we can
support each other to reckon the most ultimate solution to tackle our problems.

3.Why are many young people unwilling to follow their parent's advice?
- Some adolescents refuse to follow their parents’ counsels since they have a strong belief in
themselves so they want to gain their independence and responsibility by making their own
decisions instead of obeying their parents’ demands. In addition, owing to the generation
gap, I think parents and children can have some conflicting opinions about things, which
result in the fact that some teenagers are reluctant to follow their parents’ requirements or
advice.

4. Do Vietnamese students have difficulties at school?

- From my perspective, all students have to face some obstacles when they start attending
schools, but particularly in Vietnam, you know, students have to study a range of mandatory
subjects. Sometimes, information is excessively challenging for them to comprehend, so
they struggle with tackling schoolwork assigned by their teachers.
- Not to mention that many students have difficulties in communicating with their teachers,
so this can take a toll on their academic performance.

- Well, I believe there are numerous problems that may occur when a person has to face
many hardships in life, you know, some people don't have a holistic understanding about
tackling their problems so they tend to suffer from those things happening in their work or
studies.
- In the long run, this can have an adverse bearing on their spiritual lives and result in
depression
- So I believe that when we cope with difficulties, we should consult others who have
experience in solving that problem, therefore, we can better address those issues and
maintain our good mental state.

6. What are the advantages of having a hard time?

- Even though struggling with some difficulties in life can be quite detrimental to our
mentality, I believe that having a challenging period of time will bring some advantages to a
person's enhancement.
- When we face some challenges in life, we ought to find one way or another to tackle those

1. If you had a chance to live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
● I’m infatuated with traveling and experiencing many different cultures, so if I had a chance
to live in one part of the world, I would definitely opt for living in Australia because there are
numerous appealing things for me to discover. For instance, the ecology and environment in
Australia is tremendously diverse and fascinating, so while residing there, I can lay eyes on
different species of animals and plants to broaden my horizons of agriculture.

● Well, there are many prerequisite factors that make us make a decision to live somewhere

● I consider myself to be an easily influenced person, especially when I hear too many negative
or tragic stories, I will feel sluggish and unmotivated, leading to a lack of productivity and
motivation to accomplish my goals of the day. So I often distance myself from pessimistic
friends who constantly complain about external factors. I’d rather read books to obtain
positive messages and turn my life into a more beautiful world.

● Compliments are a valuable motivator for us to realize our worth and strengths, so I will be
on cloud nine If I receive compliments from others.
● You know, I also have a thing for giving encouraging comments or flattering remarks to
everyone to bring joy and confidence to them.

3. Why is negative feedback as important as positive feedback at work?

● While compliments serve as a confidence booster to bring us a sense of happiness and
motivation, I think constructive criticism is also something that helps us realize what we’re
not competent at, from there we will make concerted efforts to consolidate it and upgrade
ourselves in a more positive direction.

1. Why do people rarely use cash now?
 - Well I believe there are some primary reasons for this tendency, the first cause is that in
today's world, technology has advanced by Leaps and Bounds, which means that today's
users can download a lot of applications that can help them to finish online transactions so
they don’t have to bring cash or a lot of money to public destination.
- Another thing is because of safety reasons, I suppose that individuals don't have to worry
about losing the money because they can use credit cards to ‘purchase their essentials.

2. Why do restaurants and shopping centres give free gifts?

- From my perspective, the first cause is that restaurants and shopping centers want to
provide a good opportunity for customers to sample news products, chances are, they will
feel motivated to revisit those locations or buy their goods.
- Not to mention that giving free gifts to customers will leave a good impression on them, so
in the long run, they will be willing to revisit those destinations, which helps to boost the
income of the restaurants and shopping malls.

3. Can the excess of free gifts have a negative impact too?

- I believe that too much of anything is not good, for instance, when customers come to a new
place and they receive a lot of gifts, they will immediately develop a defensive attitude
towards those free gifts => this can cause a negative feeling of customers towards that
company or product, which can be adverse for their reputation.

- As far as I'm concerned, there's a particular destinations that we can meet foreigners and
talk to them => first of all, in some major cities like HCMC for example, you can go to public
destinations in district 1, where you can easily catch sight of foreigners traveling or exploring
the beauty of Vietnam => so you can converse with them and question them to expand our
comprehension about their own cultures

2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of cultural diversity?

- I suppose that cultural diversity can lead to some pros and cons
 - First of all, in terms of the benefits, I believe that people coming from different cultural
backgrounds can support and learn from each other, which gradually boosts creativity and
Innovation to individuals to tackle problems more effectively.
- However, in terms of the drawbacks, I believe that people originating from different cultures
can encounter some potential conflicts when working or interacting with others => that may
be detrimental to people’s social connections.

3. How can traditional culture and other cultures coexist?

- From my observation, with the growth of globalization, today's people tend to adopt new
cultures from other countries and attach little importance to their own traditional ones,
which can have an adverse bearing on the cultural preservation
- so I believe that the government should have appropriate intervention by integrating some
lessons and programs to arouse people’s interest about the traditional cultures of theirs, so
they will have a comprehensive understanding about different cultures and be willing to
respect others
- In the long run, this will lay a solid foundation for different cultures to coexist and
harmonize together.

7. Describe a disagreement you had with someone

What would you do if you disagreed with someone?
- You know I always make an attempt to harmonize with everyone so I don't usually
encounter any conflict with my loved ones but if I have to be engaged in those situations, I
believe that I will try to control my anger or my aggressive behaviors when talking to others
- so I can demonstrate my personal perspectives about some aspects in order to make them
understand more comprehensively about what I'm trying to say.

How do we stop an argument from escalating into a fight?

- I believe there are some benefits show approaches that we can apply into life when we have
to face some arguments with a lot of people => first of all, we have to be conscious of the
personality of the opposite people, therefore, we will deem that person an open-minded or
receptive individuals who deserve our time and energy, hence, we would choose
appropriate ways to talk to them and reckon some ways to address our issues.
- But in case that person is aggressive and narrow-minded, I think we should walk away and
we don't need to waste our time explaining things to them.
Who do you think should teach children to respect their teacher?
- I believe that adults should take serious responsibility to nurture children to have a great
respect towards their teachers but parents should be the main people that are in charge of
this
- This is because they interact with children most of the time so they have a great impact on
their children's life => that's why I believe that parents should be responsible for teaching
kids to foster their sense of appreciation and respect for their teachers.

What disagreements do parents and children usually have?
- As far as I'm concerned, due to the generation gap, almost every family usually witness a lot
of arguments between parents and their offspring => this is because you know most parents
are pretty conservative and overreacting so they tend to ask their children to follow their
favorite habits or activities but in fact, some children are pretty naughty and they refuse to
follow their parents’ advice, so this is the root cause of why there are so many arguments in
a family.

8. Describe an outdoor activity you did in a new place recently

1. What outdoor activities are popular in VietNam?
- As far as I'm concerned, there are some prevalent activities that Vietnamese people are
really into. First of all, I believe that football, hands down, is the most common sport for
people, especially men to play and enhance their body endurance.
- Another activity is playing badminton. When you go to the local parks , you can easily catch
sight of local inhabitants playing this sport together , so they can consolidate their mental
and physical state.

2. What are the differences between after-class activities done by middle and older
children?
- I'm not sure about everyone because each child is interested in different activities, but I
believe that most middle children don't have to be overly concerned about studying or
sitting in examinations so they have more spare time to spend on their personal interests,
such as playing sports or going on a picnic with their family
- however, when children get older, they have to engage in the intense study schedule so
they have to devote most of the time to read books and do homework
 - So those activities shrink their leisure time for outdoor activities, which can be quite
detrimental to their mental and physical state.

3. Do you think it's better for people to change jobs when there are new chances?
- I suppose that when people want to alter their professions , they have to consider several
factors, namely salaries, working environment, but when good opportunities come, some
people are reluctant to change because they are well acquainted with that job for a long
period of time.
- but I believe that it will be beneficial for individuals to change their jobs when good
opportunities come because this will just help them to broaden their horizons, which in the
long run, will enhance their career prospects.

4. Should young people try as many new activities as possible?

- I suppose that it depends on the characteristics of each individual.
- Some people are pretty introverted and quiet so they just want to live a peaceful and normal
life , they don't have the intention to try new things.
- But to some other young people who are vigorous and energetic, they want to try new
activities and I think this is advantageous for their enhancement because they can cultivate
their sense of knowledge and experience about new cultures, which helps them to gain
their confidence and self-esteem.

9. Describe a programme that you enjoyed very much (e.g. on TV or the internet)

1. What programs do people like to watch in your country?
- From my observations, there are some prevalent shows that Vietnamese people tend to
watch on a daily basis, you know, regarding young generations, they are more infatuated
with watching some educational shows that can help them to cultivate their sense of
knowledge about different aspects
- However, to adults , they are more into some shows that are amusing because they have to
be occupied with their intense work schedule, so watching entertaining shows can help
them to relieve their tension and enhance their spiritual lives.

2. Do people in your country like to watch foreign TV programs?

 - I suppose it depends on different age groups. When it comes to younger generations, most
students nowadays are pretty good at speaking foreign languages so they have a thing for
watching foreign TV programs in order to consolidate their linguistic proficiency.
- However, regarding the older people, they don't often have the faintest idea of speaking
foreign languages, I guess, so this can be a great obstacle that hampers them from watching
foreign TV programs and they are more loyal to some conventional shows.

● 3. What's the benefit of letting kids watch animal videos rather than visiting zoos?
While going to the zoo provides an eye-opening experience for children to gain a more
intuitive view of the natural world, watching movies and videos about animals at home also
has some significant benefits. First, when watching at home, kids will save a lot of time and
effort, instead of commuting directly to the zoos to see them in the flesh.
● The second thing is that each animal has a different habitat, so there are species living in
other continents that children cannot see in their own country, so observing animals on
videos will cultivate their sense of knowledge about different breeds of animals in the
world.

4. (agree/disagree) game shows and chat shows are a waste of time

- As far as I’m concerned, the answer depends on our purposes of watching these shows. If
we are snowed under various tasks at work and only have an ideal evening for recreation,
gathering with family and watching a handful of game shows is a favorable way to
regenerate our spiritual energy as well as enrich our spiritual life.
- But if we spend 4-5 hours a day just watching chat shows or game competitions without
dedicating ourselves to work or learning more productively, I believe it will be time-wasting.

- I think this tendency is driven by some personal reasons, to some individuals who likes to
mark beautiful memories of their lifetime, I believe that taking photos can be favorable for
them to retain some indelible moments that won't last forever
- So when they’re depressed, they can look back at those photos and reminisce about some
precious moments with their significant others.

2. What can people learn from historical photographs?

 - I believe that historical pictures are an amazing source of information for people to explore
by themselves. You know, a lot of pictures contain images of people , objects or events that
happened many years ago.
- As a result, when we take a look at those photos, we can broaden our horizons about
cultures, lifestyles and activities of people in the previous generations.

3. Is taking photos the best way to remember something?

- Even though capturing photographs is one of the beneficial ways that help people to retain
some moments that are valuable to them, I believe that recording videos or writing diaries
are also some good approaches that people can apply in order to keep their memories alive.
- Some people like to record videos because it will be more vivid and when they watch those
sources of information, they can easily imagine and understand comprehensively about
what happened in the past.

4. Which is better, taking photos or keeping a diary?

- You know I think each kind has its own perks, on a one-hand, taking photographs can be
advantageous for individuals to retain the memories within a short time and they can easily
re-watch those photos to arouse their personal interest
- However, some individuals have to live in disadvantaged situations so they can't easily
access different kinds of technologies, therefore, they tend to write diaries in order to
restore some information secretly and pass them down from generations to the next.

11. Describe a movie you watched recently and would like to watch again

- As far as I'm concerned, there are some places where people tend to watch movies
together, you know, some individuals are introverted and just want to stay at home so they
can be comfortable to enjoy the movies with their family or friends.
- However, some others tend to hang out with their buddies at the cinema, so they can enjoy
a lot of fascinating movies together as well as the festive and vibrant atmosphere of those

- I think the reason is pretty simple => adults have to face an intense work schedule,
compared to their younger days when there was no pressure of money or deadlines. So we
all have the tendency to prefer the beautiful days of being worry-free and restful. We also
miss some people who are important to us so I think it’s natural for people to reminisce
about their old memories.

2. Are kids happier than adults? Why?

- As I previously mentioned, children often have relaxing days when they don't have to think
about anything, while adults are faced with an overwhelming workload so they have to be
concerned about various factors like finances, social relationships or their children's
education, so they are less happy compared to younger individuals.

3. Why do people still remember many of their childhood friends?

- As far as I'm concerned, you know, those who can still reminisce about their classmates in
the old days, I guess they must have shared very appealing memories and fascinating things
together, as a result, they tend to remember about those memories and keep in regular
contact with their buddies from childhood and I think this is really beneficial for them to
keep their memories alive.

4. Do you think online social media will replace face-to-face communication?

- Even though online social media has become very popular in today's world, I believe that
most people still prefer meeting others in person because they can easily express their
 personal emotions or tell stories to their friends, while communicating on social media is
quite inconvenient for them.
- So online social networking sites couldn’t replace the role of physical interactions.

13. Describe the home of someone you know well and that you often visit

1. What are the differences between houses or buildings in the city and in the
countryside?
- I believe the designs of houses in major cities and in the remote regions are vastly different,
in terms of houses in metropolises, you know, the land is quite small and the population is
dense, so people tend to build houses with more floors to hold numerous people in the
same living space
- In contrast , in the countryside, the land is quite large so most residents will construct their
houses with big gardens and rooms, which are around 500 or even 1000 square meters.

2. Do you prefer to live in the city or in the countryside?

- Even though I love visiting the remote areas because of the fresh atmosphere and the
peaceful lifestyle, I prefer to live in major cities because you know, I can easily gain access to
modern facilities such as supermarkets or local parks.
- so I believe that residing in those crowded places will cater for my daily demands and help
me to promote my productivity.

3. What safety risks are there in residential buildings in cities?

- As far as I'm concerned, there are still some potential risks that residents may face when
living in residential establishments. First of all, most people have to use elevators => if
elevators are not checked regularly, chances are, it can result in the problem of elevator
breakdown.
- Not to mention that the fire protection system sometimes is not guaranteed and that can
lead to fire-related issues and be adverse to people's lives.

4. Is it expensive to decorate a house or an apartment in the place where you live?

- With the growth of e-commerce sites and the popularity of numerous decorative materials,
I believe that it is not really expensive to purchase those things to beautify my
accommodation.
 - I usually order some products to decorate my house such as paint, pictures and flowers with
reasonable prices and I believe that those products are favorable for me to make my home
become more eye-catching and well-decorated.

- From my perspective, long time ago, people didn't have a comprehensive understanding
about the drawbacks of those kinds of products => so they just freely used them on a daily
basis
- Those products are really easy to manufacture and durable so they could cater for the daily
demands of people
- However, nowadays, according to some studies, plastic goods can have an adverse bearing
on people's health, animals, especially the environment, therefore, I believe that we should
reduce our consumption of those plastic commodities and preserve our nature.

2. How can we reduce our use of plastic?

- Most people are well acquainted with using plastic products for such a long time so changing
their daily habits can be quite uncomfortable at first but I believe that we should be
conscious of the drawbacks of using plastic and gradually switch to other environment-
friendly containers such as papers or cartons.
- Another way is that the government should have the appropriate intervention to fund
influencers who have a great impact on people so they will make more videos to spread
positive messages and raise people's awareness about reducing their use of plastics as well
as protect our environment.

- I'm no expert but I believe that there is some kinds of plastic waste in my country that are
relevant to the food industry, you know, street foods are really popular in VN so sellers tend
to use plastic food containers and bottles as well as bags to store food for customers,
therefore, after using they will throw them into the environment, which can take a toll on
the aesthetic aspects of the city and leave a negative impression on tourists.

● Television is one of the amazing and reliable sources of information for users to expand their

● Although the role of the internet is undeniable in today's society, I believe that libraries still
play a vital part in residents’ lives and assist them to reinforce their spiritual values.

1. Do you think there are more beautiful things now than in the past? Why?
- From my observation, this is certainly the truth, you know, in today's world, technology has
advanced significantly so people can purchase products that are well-designed, therefore,
they can get access to a myriad of objects that used to be difficult to possess many years
ago.
- That's why I believe that this is beneficial for today's individuals to enhance their living
standards but sometimes, this can lead to the fact that many people take those objects for
granted and gradually lose their appreciation towards those items’ spiritual values.

2. What beautiful scenery spots are there in your country?

- I'm proud to say that my country is endowed by Mother Nature so we have a range of
fascinating and magnificent destinations that allure an influx of tourists on an annual basis.
- For example, in the north, you know , this place boasts mountains and rivers, so we can go
there to enjoy the beauty of nature.
- In terms of the southern part of Vietnam, I believe that the Mekong Delta is tremendously
spectacular so those places are intriguing for travelers to visit.

3. Where do you think people usually come into contact with beautiful things?
- As far as I'm concerned, when we mention some well-designed objects, we will immediately
think of museums, right?
- I believe that this is where visitors can appreciate the outstanding beauty of several
paintings or sculptures created by talented artists. From there, visitors can broaden their
horizons about art and appreciate the spiritual values brought by these gifted individuals.

- I believe there are some underlying reasons for this tendency, you know, some individuals
have a great passion for art and they have a deep inner urge that makes them feel like they
 really want to be creative and contribute to their talents to generate things that make other
people feel happy and content.
- However, you know,some others simply want to generate eye-catching and sophisticated
items for others to admire and appreciate their talents
- Some companies also want to sell their customers those beautiful products to boost their
income so it depends on their preference and their purposes.

1 Do you think kids like to share?
- I suppose it depends on different types of education that parents provide their children, you
know, some kids are well-educated so they tend to be generous and share their toys or
snacks with their peers, however, some children are overly pampered by their parents so
they can easily get what they desire .
- This gradually forms their selfish behaviors and they don't want to share anything with their
friends or their family members.

2 How can parents teach their children to share?

- As far as I'm concerned, most children have the natural drive to imitate their parents’
behaviors so parents should be responsible for sharing things to people in their community,
so this activity will serve as a role model for children to follow and form their generous
personalities
- Another way is that parents should be sufficiently ‘patient to explain all the benefits of
sharing, so children will have a comprehensive understanding about this action and be
‘eager to pursue this habit in the long run.

- I suppose there are tremendous benefits that kids can reap when they share things to
others, firstly, when they are generous and be willing to share their toys or candies to their
peers, they can win over others and expand their social connections easily
- Another benefit is that when children share things and witness the happiness and people’s
faces, they will gradually cultivate their sense of humanity and kindness.
4. Is there anything that parents would persuade children to share with others?
- Yes definitely, I believe that there are myriads of things that parents could do to convince
their offspring to share things with other people in their society
- in terms of material things, parents can encourage their children to share clothes, candies
and toys to their friends, especially disadvantaged and impoverished children
- Regarding spiritual aspects, children can share their knowledge, experiences and personal
feelings to others to help them overcome their mental problems

1. How does technology help people tell stories?

- Nowadays, I believe that technology has advanced by Leaps and Bounds, so many people
can easily access modern devices and use their smartphones or laptops to post their own
stories on the internet , therefore, more and more people can listen or read many stories
shared by people in the world.
- Another thing is that some producers can use high-quality cameras to record some scenes
and make fascinating videos to arouse the audience’s interest.

● I think both types of vehicles will be quite difficult to navigate in a narrow road or in heavy
traffic jams in metropolitan cities, however, I suppose that the bus will find it more
challenging to navigate through the crowd because their size is much larger and they have to
stop at different stations to pick up passengers, so it will be quite inconvenient for buses to
be able to travel on small roads, while cars are smaller and more convenient, so drivers can
effectively maneuver and get out of traffic congestion during peak hours.

2. If you were in a traffic jam, would you prefer to be in a car or a bus?

● I really hate being stuck in traffic but if I had to choose to stay in a car or a bus when stuck in
traffic, I would choose the former one because the bus system in my country is not very up
to par, so the service and the atmosphere in the bus is quite substandard for me, so if I'm
stuck in a heavy traffic jam, coupled with the cramped and dirty atmosphere of the bus, I'll
definitely go crazy.

● I believe that, with today's prominence of technology, many inhabitants are overly

● From my point of view, it would be one-sided to say that only the elderly have more time on
their hands because leisure time depends on how we successfully organize our own
schedule. You know, some people are competent at managing their time, so I feel that
youngsters can still have spare time to pursue their personal interests or expand their
comprehension by learning new skills. Besides, the elderly don’t have to work a lot so they
are usually free to gather with their families or lend a helping hand to their children.

Do you like to celebrate important events?

● Well, there is no doubt about it, you know, I'm an extroverted person and I love to be
surrounded with my family members or my buddies to hit the bar and blow off some steam
with them and live my life to the fullest. That's why I usually seize possible opportunities to
organize some special events like birthdays or family gatherings to create indelible moments
with my loved ones.

What kinds of events do people usually celebrate?

● There are some special events that people like to commemorate. For example, on birthdays,
we like to throw large parties with a lot of people so that we may share our incredible
moments with them. What's more? I believe that we can capture a range of photographs to
 retain those precious moments, so imagining that after five or ten years later, looking back
at the photos can bring us a sense of happiness and gratification.

● I think it depends on the personality of each individual, some people are extroverted and

ill-mannered and disrespectful, so maintaining connections with such individuals will do our

 ● There are so many effective ways that I think we can formulate and consolidate strong
relationships with our neighbors. First of all, we have to be constructive and positive people,
so we can entice more kind-hearted neighbors. Besides, we must always be eager to help

credit on us. The second way is that every time we cook scrumptious food or have a gift, we
should share them with our neighbors, so they will feel respected and love us even more.

● As far as I’m concerned, children are usually open-minded and comfortable when striking a
conversation with a stranger, so it is straightforward for them to form a relationship with
