Procedure:
1) Click on Open office Writer → Click on Text Document.
2. Write a resume in the open office writer.
3. Then click on Styles and Formatting icon.
4. Change to All styles in the bottom.
5. Click on content 1 and right Click → give the new name in the
Name Tab.
6. Give the name Next Style in the tab same as the Name Tab.
7. Set the Alignment in the Alignment Tab.
8. Change the font in the Font Tab.
9. Click Ok.
10.Then apply the New Style from the Selection.

Creating a New Year Card using insert

Procedure: 1) Click on Open office Writer Open new document.
2) Click on menu bar click on insert in drop down menu click on
picture from file.
3) Select the image you want.
4) Adjust the image to document.
5) Click on draw function tool.
6) Click on Text Icon bottom of the document.
7) Left click on the Text Icon and point on the image the text wants to
appear.
8) Hold left button on mouse, and draw the space above the image, the
amount of space required to enter the text.

Procedure: 1) Click on Open office Writer Click on Text Document.
2. Copy or enter text from the document, and paste it on the current
document.
4. Change Heading and Sub Heading to Heading 1 and Heading 2, create
at-least four pages.
5. Click on Insert Index and Tables Index and Tables.
6. Change the Title.
7. Click on the background, columns, styles.

Your letter will serve as your form letter. Save your letter as
Mail Merge Letter.

2) Prepare a document which you want to send for multiple recipients.
3) Click on Tools Mail merge wizard.
4) Select a starting from the Mail merge use current document, click
on next.
7) Click on create customise. Add, Delete or
Rename the address you want.
8) Click ok.
9) Start entering the data. After each entry, click new.
10) After finishing the data click ok and save the document.
11) Select the save document and select the saved document.
12) Check the address bloc.
13) Any changes not appeared in address bloc, then click on more and
match field for required changes.
14) Create a salutation if required, then next.
15) Adjust layout and then click next.
16) Click on Edit document and make the changes if required. The
changes made in this document will be changed to whole document.

2) prepare 3 sheet of student name and marks. From sheet 2 add another
student name and marks.
3) Create new sheet rename to Consolidated data.
3) Now click on Data Consolidate Click on more, Tick all the
options.
4) Select the Target cell and click add.
5) Select the Source cell and select each rows and columns of the sheet
and click add, repeat each individual sheet.
6) apply the functions and click ok and save the document.

3) Now select the data of required cells by pressing the ctrl key and the

5) In the Scenario window enter the name of the scenario, select the
display border colour and copy back option and click ok.
6) Now the scenario is created for the selected data.

GOAL SEEK
A student is planning her goals about the marks she should attain in
the forthcoming Semester 4 examinations in order to achieve a

distinction (75%). Assuming that examination of each subject is for

100 marks, her marks of the previous semesters are given as under.

System requirements: Open office Software.

Procedure: 1) Click on Open office Spread sheet and open a new spreadsheet.
2) Enter the table data and the row of semester 4 where the result needs to be
inserted.
3) First find the total percentage of each subject of all the semesters and place it in
the total percentage cell.
4) Now select the cell in which the marks of the 4 semester have to be entered.
4) From the toolbar menu select Data and select Goal seek option.
5) In the goal seek window enter the values according to the requirements i.e.
formula cell data. Target cell data and variable cell data and select ok
6) Finally we get the marks required to obtain 75% in the semester 4 cell.

Solver
Let's say you have Rs.10,000 that you want to invest in two
mutual funds for one year. Fund X is a low risk fund with 8%

interest rate. How much money should be invested in each
fund to earn a total interest of Rs.1000?

System requirements: Open office Software.

Procedure: 1) Click on Open office Spread sheet and open a new
spreadsheet.
2) Enter the table data and formulas according to the cell requirements.
3) Now calculate the amount to be invested in mutual fund x using
solver.
4) From the toolbar menu select Data and select Solver option.
5) In the scenario window enter the values according to the
requirements i.e. target cell, value = 1000, changing cell value and the
limiting conditions (<=10000, >=0) and select solve.
6) Finally we get the required amount to be invested in amount invested
cell.
