ABOUT YOUR SOLID WAST BILL


Exemptions: Property owners age 65 or older with an annual income of $39,000 or less can receive a 30% annual exemption on their City of
Atlanta Solid Waste service fee.

Certain property owners with an annual income of $8,000 or less may qualify for a $30 reduction of recycling fees. For additional information,
please call the City of Atlanta at (404) 330­6270.

In addition to Solid Waste service exemptions, taxpayers age 65 or older may qualify for other exemptions of City, County, School, and State
taxes. Taxpayers age 70 or older may be entitled to a Full Value exemption of County General Operating and County Bond taxes.

City of Atlanta and Fulton County homeowners who are 65 years of age or older with an annual net income of $39,000 or less can apply for a
property assessment freeze. This allows eligible property owners to freeze the value of their residential property at the previous year's value for
City of Atlanta and Fulton County taxes only. The frozen value will not apply to State and School taxes. The previous year's value will remain the
current and future property value as long as the eligible seniour occupies the residence.

Solid Waste Bills: Solid Waste bills must be paid in full by the due date. Interest will be charged at a rate of 1% per month beginning the day
after the due date and continuing until the bill is paid in full. A 10% penalty will be added to unpaid balances 90 days after the due date. If you
think your bill is incorrect, or if you need information about a transaction on your bill, call Customer Service at (404) 730­6100.

If a morgage company pays your property taxes, you may want to contat them regarding this Solid Waste fee. Your mortgage company may be
preparing to pay this bill, also.
