CONJUNCTIONS
Conjunctions are words that
connect words, phrases,
clauses, or sentences in a
sentence. They are essential for
creating complex and coherent
sentences in English. There are
three main types of
conjunctions: coordinating
conjunctions, subordinating
conjunctions, and correlative
conjunctions.
COORDINATING CONJUNTIONS
Coordinating Conjunctions:
Coordinating conjunctions are used to connect
words, phrases, or independent clauses that are of
equal importance. The most common coordinating
conjunctions are:
- For example: "I like coffee, but I prefer tea." (Here,
"but" is a coordinating conjunction connecting the
two independent clauses.)
- Other examples of coordinating conjunctions
include "and," "or," "nor," "so," "yet," and "for."
