My Understanding of RDP Guidelines

RDP- Responsive Design Pack

The RDP is the child of the Avallain Base design Pack. All the media/content appears centrally aligned
(horizontal and vertical) in accordance with the viewport. Suppose the content exceeds the viewport
then the “Transparency” effect can be observed in the bottom of the view port
The Design Pack includes
 RDP Base
 RDP primary Design Packs

Layouts, Design and Media (Assets)

There are 3 main layouts
1. 01A
2. 06A
3. 03B

01A: Title, and Content – No media area for decorative assets

06A: Title and Media – No content area for interactive syntax

03B: Title, Media, and Content areas. In mobile view the media appears above the content and in
desktop view the media area appears to the left of the content. 03B_30-70- includes more space
for content on desktop view

01A 06A 03B 03B_30-70

Text + any other assets = 03B

Only text in content area= 01A

- One line – text defaults to center

- Multiple lines/ paragraph- text defaults to left and must be manually aligned to the centre
by the editor if needed

AT- Activity Types

The content in all the ATs is centered and in the middle of the screen as a default.
If the content reaches the full width of the container, it will appear left-aligned by default
And if the content exceeds the height of the screen and requires a scroll it will align to the top of the
screen.
IMAGE
For Image width is fixed but height can differ depending on the aspect ratio used (3:2 is
recommended)

Half screen – Landscape Orientation – 820 *547 pixels dimensions

Multiple choice – Square Orientation- 268*268 pixels dimensions

Images – 01A (Flashcards, Multiple Choice Images)

Label an object: There is no fixed limitation for max size of the token images, but as per design
images should be 135*90 pixels and 90*135pixels in portrait and landscape mode, respectively.

AUDIO

Audio should be used in the supplements or Header media section of an activity and not in the
content section or Rubric
Audios :– always full player in the Supplements and Header media sections
The short audio player:- can be used in flashcards.
Small audio players can include a “slow turtle” button, which acts to reduce the speed of the audio
playback.

Audio players have a scrubber bar, play/pause buttons, time duration and transcript button to the
bottom left of the player.
When the transcript button is clicked on, the transcript section is displayed. And it can be closed by
clicking the same button
