NOTE
Inflation pressure is given for airplane on wheels.
CAUTION
Treatment must be carried out by specialized and well trained
personnel only. Undiluted anti-icing type II (SAE AMS 1428), type
III (SAE AMS 1428) and anti-icing type IV (SAE AMS 1428) fluids
must be used very carefully.
CAUTION
It is prohibited to perform a second anti-icing treatment if the
aircraft has not flown after the first application. A second
application would dangerously overload the aircraft. If an aircraft
undergoes anti-icing but does not fly, it must be cleaned either
CAUTION
If possible, the engines and the APU should be shut down
throughout the aircraft de-icing operations. If the engines or the
APU must be kept running, do not spray de-icing fluid directly
into the air intake, exhaust nozzle, probes, sensors or drains,
and close the bleed air valves.
CAUTION
If type IV de-icing and anti-icing products have been used,
any traces of fluid residue must be carefully removed from the
moving components of the aircraft (areas: flaps, slats, airbrakes,
ailerons, horizontal stabilizer, elevators, rudder, landing gear,
etc.).
If traces of fluid are present, clean the aircraft (refer to task 20-
31-00-100-808).
NOTE
Refer to CODDE 2 for the concentration and use of anti-icing
products.
If possible, use a hot mixture of water and type I, type II, type III or
type IV fluid. The protection time will be shorter if the mixture is cold.
ANTI-ICING
For anti-icing, use pure type II (SAE AMS 1424), type II (SAE AMS
1428), type III (SAE AMS 1428) or type IV (SAE AMS 1428) fluid.
When pure, type II, type III or type IV fluid is to be used with care.
Type II, type III or type IV fluid viscosity and adherence is greater than
for type I fluid. Together with the effect of aerodynamic friction, these
characteristics improve aircraft streamlining upon take-off run phase.
This provides elimination of snow or ice and gradual elimination of
the anti-icing fluid.
GENERAL
NOTE
This daily servicing is not part of the Maintenance Planning
Document and is not required to be signed off by an approved
mechanic. The purpose of these servicing operations is to
improve the aircraft availability and dispatch rate.
WARNING
DURING DAILY SERVICING, DO NOT STAND UNDER THE
PASSENGER DOOR WHILE OPENING AND CLOSING IT.
WARNING
NOTE
The daily servicing can be done with the first daily preflight
inspection (for preflight inspection: see AFM 4-100-05).
NOTE
The oxygen pressure gauge indicates the pressure in the
cylinder, whatever the position of the oxygen control lever ("ON"
or "OFF").
WARNING
BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM,
TAKE ALL THE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL
OPERATION OF A SYSTEM OR PART OF THIS SYSTEM
(AIRBRAKES, SLATS, LANDING GEAR DOORS, ETC.):

CAUTION
In case of extremely cold temperatures (OAT below −15°C/5°F),
the wheel valve can be more easily damaged.
It is preferable to perform the manual checking operation in a
hangar.
NOTE
The check must be performed with tires at ambient temperature
(aircraft at a standstill for 3 hours minimum after landing). If there
is a drop in pressure, recorded over 24 hours, see section 11.010
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data
NOTE
It is possible to measure the pressure with a pressure gauge.
NOTE
If the hydraulic systems are pressurized, check the hydraulic fluid
quantity on the “P” range.
If the hydraulic systems are not pressurized, check the hydraulic
fluid quantity on the “NP” range.
The values of the “NP” range and “P” range given on the
“SERVICING” page vary according to the temperature of the
hydraulic systems. The values shown on figure 1 are given as
an example of display only.
NOTE
If a gas bubble starts to show in the transparent reservoir, there
is sufficient fluid for 5 to 10 spraying shots.

housing subassembly.
– If the end of one or both wear pins does not protrude from the
brake housing subassembly, replace the brake assembly (Refer
to TASK 32–44–17–900–801).
WARNING
IF FUEL TANKS ARE NOT DEPRESSURIZED, FUEL WILL
SPRAY OUT DURING DRAINING.
CAUTION
Under icing conditions (temperatures below −5°C (23°F)), avoid
draining water.
Do not turn the fuel tank sump draining tool when pushing it up
to open the fuel sump.
If water is not drained at least once a week, microbiological
contamination can occur inside the fuel tanks.
NOTE
Water draining gives the best results:
– when the aircraft has been at a standstill for at least 5 hours,
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data
– before refueling,
– early in the morning (low temperature conditions),
– when the aircraft is horizontal: use the spirit level located on
the RH beam in the NLG well.
NOTE
It is recommended to drain water from the feeder tanks at least
every 7 days.
Sump draining of the other tanks is recommended every
2 months, but should be performed more often in the following
conditions :
– aircraft operating in inter-tropical areas,
– aircraft using suspect fuel,
– aircraft which are in storage,
– aircraft operated occasionally,
– aircraft operating trans-oceanic flights,
– aircraft operating low altitude flights.
For aircraft under an “Expanded Prevention Program for Fuel
Tank Contamination” (FSA 28-00-013), it is recommended to
drain all sump valves at least once a week.
z Using the fuel tank sump draining tool (stowed in the rear
compartment), perform the following operations at minimum
on the three main fuel sumps marked with a circle:
z To drain water from other fuel tanks, use the fuel tank draining
tool (refer to paragraph “For A/C without remote draining
system”) and perform the sump draining on the other fuel
sumps (see figure 1).

TYPES OF FUEL
Refer to Airplane Flight Manual.
FUEL ADDITIVES
Refer to Airplane Flight Manual.
CAUTION
Never pour undiluted additive into an empty tank.
NOTE
The theoretical fuel density is equal to 0.803 kg/l (6.70 lb/US gal).
– Fuel density in kg/l multiplied by 8.34 equals fuel density in
lb/US gal.
– Fuel density in lb/US gal divided by 8.34 equals fuel density
in kg/l.
PRESSURE REFUELING
See figures 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7
CAUTION
Take all necessary safety precautions.
A fire extinguisher must be available near the aircraft.
NOTE
Anti-icing products such as Prist are known to slow the
development of micro-organisms by reducing the amount of
free water in fuel. It is recommended to use fuel treated with
Prist (or equivalent anti-icing additive) when available. However,
these products must not replace Biobor or Kathon for biocide
NOTE
The aircraft is normally refueled under pressure, but gravity
refueling can be used if pressure refueling is not possible.
The fueling flow rate of tanks is limited to 1200 l/min (317 USG/
min) at a maximum pressure of 0.35 MPa (50 psi).
The pressure refueling system allows selection of either partial
or full refueling by means of the "FULL/PARTIAL" switch.
The best configuration for optimum full pressure refueling is
when:
– the fuel truck refuels at a pressure of 3.5 bar (50 psi),
– the aircraft attitude is as follows:
z the bubble of the spirit level is between the two lines,
z roll is at the zero position.
NOTE
The best gauging accuracy is obtained when the aircraft is
energized.
PRELIMINARY STEPS
WARNING
BEFORE STARTING PRESSURE REFUELING, YOU MUST
INSTALL THE FOLLOWING ELECTROSTATIC GROUNDING
CONNECTIONS:
– THE FUEL TRUCK-TO-GROUND CONNECTION,
– THE AIRCRAFT-TO-GROUND CONNECTION,
– THE AIRCRAFT-TO-FUEL TRUCK CONNECTION,
– THE AIRCRAFT-TO-COUPLING CONNECTION.
CAUTION
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data
– Move the wheel chocks about 2 cm (0.79 in) away from the
landing gears.
NOTE
The fuel flow dynamics during refueling may cause the landing
gears to climb on the wheel chocks if they are too close.
NOTE
– If the red STOP FUELING warning light remains on:
z Make sure that the "BOOST 1" and "BOOST 3"
pushbuttons are set to "OFF".
– If the red STOP FUELING warning light remains on, you
can open the vent valves and the wing pressurization valves
manually after removal of the relevant access doors.
CAUTION
Do not connect an electrostatic link to the RH landing gear leg.
Use the applicable grounding device located near the pressure
refueling coupling.
NOTE
The aircraft (and/or the fuel truck) shall not be grounded if
prohibited by local regulations.
CAUTION
Be attentive to the quality of the fuel in the fuel truck.
Check for signs of contamination, deposits or water.
CAUTION
Never pour undiluted additive into an empty tank.
NOTE
If the amber FAULT light comes on, partial pressure refueling
is not possible because gauging is degraded.
Partial refueling is limited to 34,700 lb with 11,000 lb maximum
in lateral groups.
– For partial refueling, set the quantity of fuel on the "TOTAL QTY
SELECT" digital display via the "INC/DEC" switch.
– Set the "LEFT − ON/OFF", the "CENTER − ON/OFF" and the
"RIGHT − ON/OFF" switches to "ON".
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data
CAUTION
If the red STOP FUELING warning light comes on during
refueling, stop refueling immediately.
CAUTION
If the test results are not satisfactory, stop pressure refueling.
CAUTION
The "TOTAL QTY" display reaches its best accuracy 5 minutes
after the end of the refueling.
During this period, the fuel truck may start refueling to adjust the
fuel quantity delivered.

CHECK THE FOLLOWING:
– AIRCRAFT GROUNDING,
– THAT ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS ARE NOT ENERGIZED,
– THAT NO REFUELING OR DEFUELING IS IN PROGRESS.
CAUTION
Refer to the plate indicating cylinder pressure versus
temperature.
CAUTION
Unusual calendar intervals between two oxygen refilling
operations can lead the operator to suspect that there is a leak
in the crew or passenger oxygen system.
In this case, perform a leak check of the oxygen system to make
sure that there is no leakage.
– Make sure that the oxygen bottle is not empty: pressure read on
the oxygen pressure gauge must be greater than zero with no
ambiguity.
– If not, send the oxygen cylinder to an approved service center or
to the vendor.
– Clean the periphery of the door (1) with a lint-free cloth.
DASSAULT AVIATION Proprietary Data
NOTE
The door (1) is retained by a chain.
NOTE
The capacity of the cylinder is 3300 liters (115 cu.ft) at a pressure
of 127.5 bar (1850 psi) and a temperature of 21°C (70°F).
NOTE
A placard on the oxygen cylinder support indicates the correction
values versus temperature.

REFILLING OF THE OXYGEN CYLINDER
CAUTION
When the aircraft remains on ground in temperatures near or
below 0°C (32°F), it is mandatory to fully drain the water system
(potable water tank and water lines) to prevent damage from
freezing.
NOTE
Draining of the water tank is an operation intended to drain only
the water tank.
After this operation, water may remain in the distribution lines.
Draining of the water system is a complete draining operation
NOTE
The number of isolation valves and their location depend on
aircraft configuration (refer to cabin guide).
NOTE
If the in-flight water draining procedure has been thoroughly
completed as per CODDE 2, it is not necessary to perform the
on ground water tank draining procedure.
NOTE
For A/C with aft lavatory shower, also apply supplement 1
procedures of the Ground Servicing Manual. If the in-flight
water draining procedure has been thoroughly completed as
per CODDE2, the ground draining phase can be limited to the
shower water system draining starting from step “Draining of the
shower hot water system”.
EQUIPMENT
Drain container (Qty: 2)
CAUTION
The water pressure may be high. Dassault Aviation recommends
placing a rubber sock on the drain masts to prevent spreading
liquid onto the floor.
NOTE
To start the compressor, the servicing door must be closed.
NOTE
When set to "AUTO" or "ON", the compressor will automatically
shut down after about 25 min of continuous operation. The
system will then reset internally after 10 min.
