QUESTION ONE/GROUP ONE


One of the core responsibility of a Project Manager or a project management team for a successful
project implementation involves having in place a good project budget.
How should this be ensured?

The discussion should be detailed to include the important factors that would affect development
of a good budget. It should also include among other factors, the related activities which happens
during both the planning and the execution phases of the project.

QUESTION TWO/GROUP TWO

The information in Table 1 represents activities and estimated duration for a certain project.

i. Draw the network diagram;


ii. Indicate the early/earliest start time & finish times, as well as all important information in the
network diagram;
iii. Determine the critical path;
iv. Mention the critical activities;
v. Establish a table summarising the project information given, to show the float time. Identify
the critical activities from the table.
QUESTION THREE/GROUP THREE
Assume you are assigned to carry out a project time analysis in order to advise a Project Manager
for the oncoming project implementation phase. The project has a number of activities listed in
Table 2. The technical team estimated three durations’ categories to undertake each activity
representing different possible circumstances that may affect project time. Additionally, the team
drafted a list of activities. Use the PERT analysis planning method, do the following:
i. Construct a Network Diagram for the project, Perform PERT analysis and advise on
required duration to accomplish the whole project
ii. Test the possibility of accomplishing the whole project 3weeks less than and more than
required duration you recommended in (i) above.
iii. Advise the Project Manager on the expected durations to undertake each activity
