rameters are coded with two bits each. Thanks to this, the values 0dec up to
3dec can be shown. Please take into account that the coding of the function of
channel 00 to 07 (X0) differs from that of channel 00 to 07 (X1).

3.3.9.3 Parameter
NOTE
The overflow/underflow range is variable.
When the set overflow limit is reached, a 0x7FFF is transmitted (measurand
>20 mA); for a value below the underflow limit, a zero is output.
If the overflow limit below 20 mA is reached, the value remains at the overflow
limit.
In case of line break, the end value is output (0x7FFF).

The counters and the corresponding outputs work independently of each oth-
er. After reaching the reference value, the counter and the corresponding out-
put must both be reset. If only the counter is reset, the corresponding output
would remain in its current state.

In certain device operating states, it is possible that in a data buffer more char-
acters have to be set than the available space.
Which may lead to a wrong entry in the status byte for the respective data buf-
fer in the communication input data.
For the distribution of the bits, see 3.5.1.2 "Process data"
The respective status bits are retained until they are reset via the command
byte in the communication output data, even if the status of the buffer memory
is okay again later on.

One character
Two characters in succession
NOTE
This mechanism is suitable for received data in which not every character ap-
pears and which have no fixed length.
One or two separators can be defined, resulting in the telegrams being sepa-
rated.
Separation via a separator is done if the first separator appears in the received
data.
Separation via two separators is done if the first separator appears in the re-
ceived data and the next character in the received data is the second separa-
tor.
The separators are also shown in the communication input data.
In the default setting, both separators are 0. If the separators themselves are
defined, make sure that the selected separator(s) do not occur in the actual
payload.
Via pause
NOTE
This mechanism is suitable for receive data in which any character can appear
and which have no fixed length, and as a safeguard against error states in
case of other separations.
If enabled, telegrams are separated if the time between two received charac-
ters is longer than the set pause.
The telegram will not be placed in the receive buffer until after the pause has
expired.
The pause time starts and ends with completely received characters, i.e., in
each case the time between the end of the current and the beginning of the
next character is measured.
NOTE
This mechanism is suitable for received data which have a fixed length. In ad-
dition, it is recommended using a sufficiently long pause as safeguard against
error states.
NOTE
This mechanism is always present and cannot be avoided.
If the data length of the telegram is larger than the maximum data length that
can be represented in the communication input data, a new telegram is
formed.
The telegram separation is done in general as long as at least one of the four
previously described conditions is fulfilled.
The separated telegram is placed in the receive buffer and represented in the
communication input data in accordance with the selected transmission proto-
col (request or polling).
If several telegrams are located in the receive buffer, they will be processed
by the FIFO method, i.e., the telegram received first will also be represented
first in the input data.
In general, apart from a separation via a fixed telegram length, separation via
a sufficiently long pause should also be done in the receive data.
The reason for this is that in case of missing characters due to transmission
errors, it is still guaranteed that there is no permanent offset between received
and sent data.
If several telegrams are located in the receive buffer, they will be processed
by the FIFO method, i.e., the telegram received first will also be represented
first in the input data.
In general, apart from a separation via a fixed telegram length, separation via
a sufficiently long pause should also be done in the received data.
The reason for this is that, in case of missing characters due to transmission
errors, this guarantees that no difference between received and sent data re-
mains.
Flow control Software XON / XOFF
Hardware RTS Line
To prevent the data buffer of one the users from being overwritten, a flow con-
trol for the communication interface can be activated separately for the send
unit and receive unit.
The same setting for the send unit and receive unit can be selected.
However, in special cases, a different setting for the send unit and receive unit
can be useful.
The following flow control protocols are supported.
Software XON/XOFF
In RS232 and RS485 modes, flow control can be done via the control charac-
ters XON and XOFF.
The send readiness and receive readiness are signaled by the control charac-
ters XON and XOFF, respectively.
After receiving the control character XOFF in the received data, no more char-
acters will be sent via the communication interface, even if the send buffer still
contains characters.
It is not until the control character XON is received that sending is resumed.
The device will possibly send the control character XOFF within the actual
send data if the number of free characters in the receive buffer falls under a
certain value.
Once the number of free characters is again above this value, the control char-
acter XON will be sent.
The software flow control cannot be used if the control characters XON and
XOFF appear in the payload of the communication interface.
NOTE
Hardware RTS Line in RS485 mode without function.
Timeout XOFF
The timeout is adjustable from 0 to 100 s.
If the software flow control for the send data is operated via the control char-
acters XON and XOFF, a time (timeout) can be defined in the receive data on
the communication interface for the reception of the control character XON.
Upon receiving the control character XOFF via the communication interface,
the time will start.
If, after the time has expired, the control character XON does not appear in the
receive data of the communication interface, sending will take place via the
communication interface, if send data are available in the receive buffer.
This prevents a control character XON from being missed in the receive data
from the communication interface due to a transmission error which potentially
results in data no longer being sent.
Hardware RTS/CTS
The device will only send data if reception readiness on the communication in-
terface is signaled via the CTS line.
The device will signal reception readiness via the RTS line.
The status depends on the number of free characters in the receive buffer,
similarly to the software flow control.
Payload protocol No payload protocol
SEW-MOVIMOT protocol
See 3.5.1.5 "Use of the SEW-MOVIMOT® protocol"
NOTE
Send delay is only required when operating in half-duplex. This is the case in
RS485 mode. In all other operating modes, the parameter is ineffective.
If the data length of device 56761 is now enlarged, an error message will be
displayed, saying that the data overlaps another device. Carry out the follow-
ing steps to enlarge the data length of device 56761.
Create a placeholder directly behind the data of device 56761.
If the data length of device 56761 is now enlarged, an error message will be
displayed, saying that the data overlaps another device.
Carry out the following steps to enlarge the data length of device 56761.
MOVIMOT parameterization
Navigate to the parameter page of device 56761 to set the parameters.
Set the parameters of the communication channel exactly to the values
mentioned below to ensure correct functioning of the SEW-MOVIMOT®.
NOTE
The parameters are not affected by this, but are also listed for the sake of com-
pleteness.
NOTE
Before leaving the page and closing the browser, press the Save button to en-
sure that the parameters are applied.
Restart the bus node to ensure that it correctly applies the changes in the
data length of the device and the parameters.
