99 When timing an engine, always prevent the engine from being turned over. Use a notice and/or inhibit the engine.

2. Introduction
Essential tool for removing/installing the high pressure fuel pump. Time saving tool as the fuel pump drive gear retains its timed position when
pump is removed. Supplied in a storage case with full instructions.

5. Operation
5.1. This kit has been designed for the removal and replacement of the high pressure fuel pump from the drive gear for the applications
listed. The gear will be maintained in its correctly timed position so that no adjustments to the timing are required when the pump is
refitted.
Note: The forcing screw threads must be kept clean and lubricated with a high quality grease.
5.2. Removal
5.2.1. Remove the inspection cover from the timing cover and remove the fixing bolt from the injection pump drive gear.
5.2.2. Fit the short end of the VSE6541.03 Stepped Bolts into the pump drive gear, fit the VSE6541.01 Fuel Pump Removal/Installation
Plate and secure the Pump Plate to the cylinder block using the bolts provided. Secure the Pump Plate to the stepped bolts using
the nuts provided.
5.2.3. After disconnecting the high pressure fuel pump connections, insert the lubricated VSE6541.05 Forcing Screw into the Pump Plate
and turn in a clockwise direction to push the fuel pump out of the drive gear. (fig.1)

5.3. Installation
5.3.1. Remove the Force Screw and fit the high pressure fuel pump into position.
5.3.2. Slide the VSE6541.07 Installation Bolt through the VSE6541.06 Cover and Pump Plate and screw into the high pressure fuel pump.
Note: Apply a small amount of high quality grease to the VSE6541.06 Cover outer face.
5.3.3. Turn the Installation Bolt in a clockwise direction to pull the injection pump into the drive gear and back into position. (fig.2)

Environment Protection
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to
a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely
unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids
according to local regulations.
