Center Setup
i. Internet Lease Line - A dedicated Internet Lease line (1:1) of 2 MBPS is required to run a
single session at each classroom. With increase in concurrent sessions at the same
classroom the bandwidth should also be increased at the rate of 1 MBPS for each extra
session to support the delivery.

Note: Internet bandwidth will be discussed as per feasibility and occupancy on actuals.

ii. Router - A network device that connects WAN network to the internal LAN network. The
suggested WAN router should at least have 2 WAN and 2 LAN ports. The approved makes
of the routers are CISCO, 3COM, NORTEL, Linksys only. Our recommendation is CISCO.
iii. LAN SWITCH - A network device that cross connects stations or LAN segments. For the
education classrooms we require a network switch of 8/16/24/36 Ports depending on the
number of Network devices required in the center. Below matrix helps deciding the number
of ports to buy w.r.t. to terminals.

It is important to buy only approved and good quality of layer-2 switch as it is one of the most
important device delivering the high performance data transfer, audio and video. We cannot
afford and contention during the connections. The approved makes of the switches are
CISCO, 3COM, NORTEL, Linksys only. Our recommendation is CISCO.

iv. LAN CABLING - During the electrical work please ensure that the LAN cable is segmented
using a different Pipe and different route. Also ensure that the LAN and electrical points are
installed with a distance of at least 6 inches to ensure that there is no distortion. Ensure
that AMP or Lucent make of cable with CAT6E specifications is used for LAN.
v. UPS Power Supply - Online UPS for ROUTER and layer-2 switch Power Supply 500VA and
Offline or Line Interactive UPS for the other active equipment’s specified in the subsequent
sections. In case any unspecified equipment is connected to the UPS then UPS rating
planning should be done keeping that in mind.
vi. Below matrix lists the UPS requirement as per the seat capacity.

viii. TERMINALS - EDUCATION TERMINAL: As part of Timespro classroom setup below
configuration types are required:

Standard Terminal: It is standard Terminal for the students to attend the sessions.

CC Terminal: This is the terminal in addition to the licensed seats. It is to be used for Classroom
Coordinators day-to-day operations. There are no configuration restrictions for this terminal.

ix. SPARES - There shall be at least 10% spares maintained at all the center for all Hardware,
for common Hardware like terminals/UPS. Also 20% of spares in terms of value of
consumables items like webcam, microphone and LAN cables is to be maintained.
x. SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION - It is important to have the original and licensed software to
ensure that the latest updates and bug fixes are available to handle the system
vulnerabilities. Refer to the below table for the software configurations.

xi. CCTV Camera - An IP camera is also needed at each of the classroom for surveillance
purposes with recording capacity of at least 45-60 days.
xii. Projector (Optional) - A projector along with projection is to be installed in the classroom
for facilitating classroom learning. The suggested projector model for the same is EPSON
WI475.
