Revision History:
The SCHWIND MS-39 allows for a particularly detailed overview of the cornea including the corneal aberrations.
Here, the user can differentiate between the anterior, posterior, or entire cornea. Maps and simulations help
with analysis, as well as when talking to patients.
KERATOCONUS SCREENING
This convenient tool provides important corneal data and can make a pre-operative contribution to avoiding
possible complications associated with ectasia.
INTRASTROMAL RINGS
Placement of intrastromal rings can be planned exactly with the help of pachymetry maps and a corneal eleva-
tion profile.
PUPILLOGRAPHY
The integrated function captures the pupil diameter dynamically or statically depending on the defined lighting
conditions. Precise data concerning the pupil center and diameter are essential for planning and performing
most refractive treatments.
IOL CALCULATION
The calculation module for intraocular lenses, based on ray tracing technology, is excellently suited for treat-
ment planning of refractivity treated or untreated eyes.
GLAUCOMA SCREENING
LENS BIOMETRICS
The crystalline lens thickness and their position in the eye can be precisely determined to support refinement of
the IOL calculation
1. Turn on the PC
2. Push the activation switch of the power supply on ON
3. Launch the application software Phoenix
4. Wait until the main screen of the application software is shown.
5. Click NEW PATIENT and enter his personal data. If the patient is already presents in the database, you
can automatically search the surname in the surname command line.
6. A new examination will be created automatically.
7. Select the device to use
8. The image capture screen will open. Now it will be possible to capture the image.
1. Turn the joystick and align the device with the patient’s eye.
2. Move towards the eye with the tool. Keep centered the reflection of the corneal vertex in both of the im-
ages.
3. Perform some micro movements with the joystick to obtain the best image alignment.
4. Push down the joystick to confirm and capture the image. The image will be saved in the gallery.
5. Double click on the captured image to process and visualized on the computer screen.
HOW TO TURN OFF THE DEVICE
CAUTION: (Do not turn off the computer and do not disconnect the connection cable between the computer and
the device when the program is use.
1. Immobilize the device. Turn the locking knob.
2. Launch the application software Phoenix. Turn off the
3. Computer
4. Push the activation switch of the power supply on OFF
5. Place the protective cover on the device to prevent dust to fall
6. on the device
HOW TO CALIBRATE:
1. Place the 0.8 OCT orb sphere aligned with the machine’s optical axis
2. Relay to the monitor and move towards the 0.8 orb sphere with the tool. Keep centred the reflection of
the corneal vertex in both of the images.
3. Perform some micro movements with the joystick to obtain the best image alignment.
4. Press the space bar and wait for it to calibrate.
