1 ETS3 Access Levels

1.1 Overview
The EST3 driver can be configured with 3 different levels of access to EST3 panel functionality. This is
not documented in the driver manual since the existence of the different access levels must be made
known to authorised persons only.
The three access levels are:
• Level 0 – Read Only permission
• Level 1 – Partial Write permission
• Level 2 – Full Write permission

1.2 Description
Level 0:
This is the default level. It allows all supported points to be read but does not allow the bridge to issue any
commands to the EST3 panel.
Level 1:
Level 1 access allows a subset of all available commands to be issued to the EST3 panel by the bridge.
See Tables 1 and 2 below.
Level 2:
Level 2 allows all available commands to be issued to the EST3 panel by the bridge. See below.

1.3 Setup
The EST3 driver looks for a file called password.cfg on the bridge. This file (if it exists) encodes the
access level of the bridge. If it is not found, the access level defaults to 0. Three files, viz. pass_0.cfg,
pass_1.cfg and pass_2.cfg are stored in the EST3 driver directory of the FieldServer source code. They
correspond to the three access levels. To set an access level of 1, download pass_1.cfg to the bridge as
password.cfg.
