    K4u Sharing 022
    Overview
    The Amulet Hotkey K4u can be connected to another K4u to allow one of the attached PCs to be shared
    between two users.

    NOTE: If the Main Processor firmware is K4u0m110 or later (CN 216), the unit will also support mixed
    combinations of front panel USB, PS/2 keyboards and mice.

    Sharing
    DIP switches on the underside of K4u A should to be set as
    follows:
    Using DIP switches B1 & B2, describe to the K4u which channel
    is to be shared. In Figure 1, both DIP switches would be
    switched “ON”, to denote channel 4 to be shared.
    DIP switches B3 & B4 allow the users to specify the sharing
    time-out, this being the amount of time of keyboard and/ or
    mouse inactivity before the inactive user can access the shared
    PC.
    It is only necessary to set the above DIP switches on
    the K4u which is connected to the Shared PC.
    Exclusive Mode
    To keep control of the system after the time out period expires, exclusive mode can be activated. To select this mode,
    press the hotkeys, omitting the number and replacing it with “*” on the numeric keypad. To relinquish the system, the
    user simply repeats this same hotkey sequence.
    Sharing using MousePoint®
    MousePoint® cannot be used to select the shared PC, this has to be selected using manual channel change with either
    keyboard hotkeys or mouse button combinations. However, MousePoint® will function as normal across the other PCs
    connected to each K4u. The DIP switches will need to be set as outlined above.
    Do not include the shared PC in the MousePoint® Configuration on the K4u.
