1. Description of the basis of the Computer Analysis------------------------------p.3
This software system is designed to analyze the given frame structure, and then generate diagrams and
deflected shapes based on the computer analysis.
According to the website of Computer and Structures, SAP has been representing the most advanced
technological approaches since over thirty years ago. SAP2000 boasts a highly mature, intuitive, and
universally applicable user interface in the traditional sense. It is also an unparalleled analysis engine
and design system in various types of engineering infrastructure, including transportation, public
works, and industrial sectors.
SAP2000 is the most comprehensive, efficient, and practical general purpose structure program
available, with a powerful user interface design and visual 3D object modeling environment. With the
analysis and design capabilities of SAP2000, users can easily solve small daily problems and improve
learning efficiency by applying structural models.
SAP2000 was developed in accordance with international standards and codes of practice in the
United States, Canada, and other countries, and can be applied to bridge, wind, seismic and wave load
conditions. It is able to comprehensively evaluate the design performance and compliance of steel and

concrete structures. As a result, SAP2000 is a complex model system that integrates built-in template
generation and meshing capabilities.
SAP2000 can perform linear static and multiple-step static analyses. The linear static analysis of a
structure involves solving a system of linear equations represented by Ku = r. Certain types of load
patterns are multi-step, meaning they represent a sequence of individually applied spatial load
patterns. These include load patterns such as vehicles, live loads, and wave loads.
Overall, SAP2000 is a simple and efficient structural analysis and design system. Whether it is a
simple structure on a small scale or a complex structure on a large scale, users can freely create and
analyze static or dynamic 2D and 3D frameworks.

It can demonstrate that the computer analysis results are accurate because the horizontal and vertical
forces are both equal to 0 kN.
