COM 3019 - SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

ASSIGNMENT 1 GUILDLINE

Dear students,

This is your first assignment (summative assessment) for this course that accounts for 30% of

your total marks for the course. Prior attempting this first assignment, please carefully read all of

the materials found in week 1, 2 and 3 of the course shell.

Please write your solutions clearly and concisely. If you do not explain your answer you will be

given no credit. You must write your own solution. Copying someone else‟s solution will be

considered plagiarism and may result in failing the whole course.

The following points should be noted for this part of the assessment:

1) This is an individual assessment, not a group task.

2) Your assignment should be submitted on the due date by 11.59 p.m. (23.59 hours) VLE

(UTC) time at the latest. In order to submit your assignment, please use the submission

link titled “Assignment 1_Submission Link” that is located in Week 3 on the VLE page

of your module.

3) Literature should be sourced from a range of journal articles and textbooks. A limited

range of readings will be made available.

4) The word count is 3000 words +/- 10%. This does not include the reference list and any

appendices the assignment may include.

5) Accurate referencing of sources is crucial in this coursework. The referencing system

used on this module is the APA Reference system. Please make sure you are familiar

with this. Marks will be deducted for inaccurate referencing.

6) The assessment must be submitted electronically via „Turnitin‟.
