Lecture 9 – Identifying Goals Worksheet

Think about each of the nine areas below and imagine your ideal scenario.

If you have a specific calling or vocation, your goals in several areas may overlap – for example,
career, finance, friendships and family could overlap if you were setting up a community project
which would help the people in your community, as well as earn you a living.

Write your goals for each of the nine areas. The questions serve as prompts but if they are not
relevant for your situation, please ignore them.

1. Health

If you were experiencing optimal health, what would your daily life be like?

2. Family

● How do you want to experience family life?

● In which areas would you like it to improve?

3. Friendships

● Are you content with your current groups of friends?

● Are you looking for more friends? If so, what types of friendships do you value the most –
deeper connections or people to go out and have a good time with?
● How do you want to spend time with your friends? What types of activities do you enjoy
doing with friends?

4. Romantic Relationships

● Imagine your ideal relationship. What would that person be like?

● What would your life look like with that person? What would your daily routine be like?
● What types of activities would you like to do with that person?
● What would you like your future with them to be like?

5. Spirituality

● What states of consciousness are you looking to experience?

● Are there any limitations you’d like to overcome? What are they?
● What would your life be like each day if you were living in line with your spiritual purpose?
6. Personal Development

● What personal traits and skills do you want to develop?

● What new habits would you like to build?
● What unhelpful habits would you like to stop?
● What is your productivity like? Your communication skills? Confidence? Resilience? Are these
areas which you’d like to improve on?
7. Life Experiences

● What experiences make you feel most alive/are most rewarding, that you’d like to do more
of?
● What places do you want to travel to?

8. Career

● Are you satisfied in your current role?

● Are you passionate about the industry you work in?
● Are you content being an employee or would you prefer to work for yourself?
● Are you content with your working hours?
● What is your ideal type of job and company?
● What skills do you want to develop?
● Do you want to undertake further studies?
● What would you like the ultimate outcome of your career to be? How far up the ladder do
you want to go?
● What about your current job, company, or general career aspirations motivates and inspires
you?
● Does your work align with your purpose or do you need a change?
● If money was not an issue, how would you be spending your time? Is this a possible career or
business option for you?
9. Finance

● Are you making enough money to have the lifestyle you desire?
● How much money would you like to be making per month?
● Do you have debts you’d like to pay off soon?
