Q04. Find the probability that in a random arrangement of the letters of the word UNIVERSITY, two I’s
come together.
Q05. Let A and B be two events such that P(A)  0.3 and P(A  B)  0.8 then, determine P(B) and P(B)
if P(A  B)  P(A).P(B) . [2  5  10
Followings are of 3 Marks each (Q06-07).
Q06. Out of 100 students, two sections of 40 and 60 are formed. If you and your friend are among the 100
students, what is the probability that you both enter the same section? What is the probability that you
both enter the different sections?

Followings are of 5 Marks each (Q09-10).

Q09. Two students Anil and Ashima appeared in an examination. The probability that Anil will qualify the
examination is 0.05 and that Ashima will qualify the examination is 0.10. The probability that both
will qualify the examination is 0.02. Find the probability that
(a) both Anil and Ashima will not qualify the examination.
(b) at least one of them will not qualify the examination.
(c) only one of them will qualify the examination.
