Blender and Unity 3D
Blender and Unity 3D
Prerequisites:
No prior experience in 3D modelling or Blender is required.
Course Description:
This advanced course is designed for 3D art and anima=on, focusing on creating assets for
Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) applications. Students will delve into the
intricate world of VR/AR asset creation, mastering the necessary skills to produce immersive,
interactive, and realis=c 3D content for cuIngt-edge VR/AR experiences through Blender.
Course Lecture Dura=on: 12 - 16 Hrs
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
• Create 3D models from scratch using Blender.
• Understand fundamental principles of 3D modelling and texturing.
• Utilize Blender's interface and tools effectively.
• Produce high-quality 3D assets suitable for various applications.
1. Introduction to Blender
In these initial weeks, students become familiar with the Blender software interface,
learning how to navigate 3D space, and configuring their workspace preferences.
2. Basic 3D Modelling
Students start their 3D modelling journey with an introduction to mesh modelling. They
begin working with primitive shapes and modifiers, and develop a foundational
understanding of vertices, edges, and faces in the 3D space.
3. Intermediate 3D Modelling
Building on their basic skills, students explore more advanced modelling techniques. This
includes mastering actions such as extrusion, bevelling, and loop cuts, and understanding
advanced concepts like subdivision surface modelling and Booleans.
8. Final Project
In the concluding week, students apply the skills they've acquired throughout the course to
create and present a final 3D model. This project serves as a culmination of their learning
and is followed by feedback and cri=que.
3. Principles of Anima6on
Learn anima*on principles such as timing, spacing, and easing.
Applying the 12 principles of animation.
Analysing and critiquing anima*on clips.
4: Character Anima6on
Walk cycles and other character animations.
Expressive character anima*on for storytelling.
Implementing character emotions and personality in animations.
Resources:
• Blender software (already used in the previous course).
• Online tutorials and documentation.
• Animation reference materials.
• Access to computer labs with Blender installed.
