8. “should”, “let’s” and “how about”
- should + V(infinitive) - Let’s (not) + V (infinitive)
- How about + V-ing? - How about + S + V (simple present)?
9. Past simple with regular verbs
Form: S + V2/V-ed (-) S + didn’t + V1 (?) Did + S + V1?
Use: talk about an action that started and finished in the past with definite time.
Time expressions: yesterday, last night/ week/ month ; three days ago …
 Spelling rules for regular verbs (V-ed)
- We form the past simple of regular verbs by adding –ed to the verbs. (clean=> cleaned)
- For verbs ending with –e, we add –d (like => liked)
- For verbs ending with consonant + y, we change y to i and add –ed (try => tried)
- For one- syllable verbs ending with one consonant, then one vowel and one consonant,
we double the last consonant and add –ed. (plan => planned)
