Close is the sixth studio apartment album by Kim Wilde , released in June 1988 .Produced
by Ricky Wilde and Tony Swain , finis was the final album on which Marty Wilde had co-
writer credits .The album is widely perceived by fans and critics ( and Kim herself ) as Oscar
Wilde 's most well-adjusted , with many variety of pop represented : saltation , ballad , tilt
and midtempo .The album 's lead ace was `` Hey Mister grief '' , featuring backing vocals
from Jnr Giscombe – but its success was dwarfed by the follow-up unity , `` You Came '' ,
which hit the go past 10 in many countries and just missed the US upper side 40 .`` Never
Trust a stranger '' and `` Four alphabetic character word '' also reached the UK Top 10 ,
although a fifth single `` beloved in the Natural Way '' was less successful .attending for the
record album was bolstered by Kim 's livelihood one-armed bandit on Michael Jesse Jackson
's European tour .Close reached the crest 10 in the Britain , almost all Northman
commonwealth , Republic of Austria and Federal Republic of Germany and went on to
become Wilde 's vainglorious selling album , being certified platinum in the United Kingdom
.In Australia , the album was less successful , peaking at # 82 on the ARIA record album
chart .A 2-CD 25th anniversary Edition of Close was released in the United Kingdom in
September 2013 , with the album 's original 10 tracks bolstered by an additional 21 B-sides
and remixes .== Critical response == Anne Lambert , noting the ups and John L. H. Down of
Wilde 's career , concluded that Close was `` test copy that Kim will still be around when her
rivals are fighting it out in the bargain bin . ''Despite expressing Bob Hope that the Singer
would `` experiment and take some fortune '' , the reviewer singled out both the `` luscious
ballad '' `` Four letter of the alphabet Word of God '' and the `` brilliant funk '' of `` Hey Mr.
heartbreak '' .Smash striking gave a conflate review , expressing dislike for the cartroad ``
Four Letter Good Book '' and `` Lucky guy '' but again describing `` Hey Mr. heartbreak '' as ``
brilliant '' and `` Love in the Natural Way '' as `` sticky '' .Caroline Sullivan of Melody Maker
gave a mostly positive review but noted the similarities of the output to recent piece of
work by SAW and wrote `` Many Sung dynasty here could represent Bananarama wow !
racetrack with Kim 's voice superimposed . ''Q , while describing Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie
Wills Wilde as an insane asylum in British pop ( along with Bananarama ) , wrote that `` You
Came '' sounded `` dated '' and `` like an out-take from Human League 's dare '' .However ,
praise was reserved for a `` really particular bit '' ; Wilde 's fold translation of Todd
Rundgren 's `` Lucky guy rope '' .`` Writing for strait , dick Kane compared the `` pure pop ''
record album unfavorably to the work of darling Shop son and Belinda Carlisle , specifically
citing `` Four Letter tidings '' as `` having been discarded by Sheena Easton while clearing
her wardrobe of Crimplene jump suit . ''== Track list == English One '' Hey Mister Heartache
