3.1.5 GRID CONNECTION FEATURES

(1) Anti-islanding protection
The objective of this system is to detect the islanding condition and drive
the system to a stable operation condition. Passive and active methods
are embedded in the control system. The passive method is phase jump
detection while the active method is Slip Mode Frequency shift.

(2) Power factor control

Power factor can be fixed or controlled through the communication port. It
is important to notice that at a constant power factor, a reduction in
irradiance will cause a reduction in the reactive power.

(3) Reactive power control

Reactive power can fix or controlled through the communication port. The
inverter can work at a fixed power factor or at a fixed reactive power.
When working as a fixed reactive power, a reduction in irradiance will not
cause a reduction in the reactive power unless the minimum power factor
is achieved.

-9-
(4) Active power control
An active power limitation feature allows controlling the active power of the
inverter.

CHAPTER 5 COMPLEMENTARY TECHNICAL CLARIFICATIONS

5.1 EQUIPMENT GROUNDING

This inverter should be connected to an IT system according to IEC 60364, which
means that the inverter should be connected to an ungrounded AC system. The
step up transformer may have either delta or wye connection for the low voltage
winding. However, in case the low voltage winding of the transformer is wye
connected, the neutral point should not be grounded. Grounding through a high
impedance resistance may be allowed if designed according to IEC 60364.
