Students are more inclined in politics then
in education Before I begin let us know what politics really is as most of us have a wrong and biased views associated with this word. Politics basically is the way of making agreements and decisions between the people so that they can live together in groups. The question of whether students should actively participate in politics has been debatable for a long time now. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with students understanding the laws that govern the prosperity of their country. Politics is not only taking part in elections and rule the country but it can be present in any field. It may be a type of service to nation by leading civilians and chance to provide better government facilities. Today we are talking about politics in a student life. Politics for a scholar is a term that represents the involvement of students in political activities. It’s a vital part of democratic societies, where young minds learn about leadership, decision-making, and societal issues. In the current scenario we can observe that the interest and inclination of scholars is more in political activities than in education and studies. They take an active participation in such activities. We could observe this during the elections in schools and colleges for the selection of their representatives in every field. As a student I think participation in politics leads to a harmonious development of personality. It makes them aware of what is happening in the country and in the world around. It also develops in them the qualities of leadership. Instead of being a timid and shy bookworm, they grow into an aggressive, dominating and alert young man who knows how to fight the battle of life and how to get succeed easily.
But we already know that every coin has two
faces i.e., if something has merits it would also have some demerits. One of the main limits is that politics can be a very time-consuming activity. This can be a problem for students who have commitments for their studies and future. Politics makes a great interference in their regular studies. Their interest gets diverted from the main aspect. Interest in politics leads a student to be an active participant in strikes, demonstrations and processions, as a result of which they divert their educational life. Deep participation in politics thus can spoils a student’s career. After seeing all the pros and cons we can conclude that the active participation of students in politics is not very helpful, they should participate but not so actively. All activities are good if one remains within reasonable limits. Hence students should primarily be involved in their studies and keep themselves active and responsible to the nation through light politics.
